We want your graduation day to run as smoothly as possible, so as the Faculty Marshals, we are providing some basic instructions in this email and we invite you to attend a graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 15th at 5:00 p.m. in Francis Auditorium. Where do I go graduation morning? Arrive at Hunt Dining Hall (only students may enter) • Graduate Students: Go to Hunt East (up the right side of stairs) • Undergraduate Students: Go to Hunt West (up the left side of stairs) What if I have mobility issues? • The procession and recession require students to climb and descend a lot of steps. The lines of graduates move at a moderate pace but they do keep moving. What do I wear? • Arrive already robed. The bathrooms will be too crowded to use as a dressing room. • Listen to weather reports and dress appropriately. • Wear shoes that are comfortable for you to walk in up and down stairs. • Keep in mind that you could be sitting for two hours in the direct sun – make sure that you are hydrated. (Sunglasses may be worn). How do I put on my regalia? • The hood goes over your head with the white velvet facing outwards and the yellow and white silk facing inwards. • The cap sits straight / flat on your head.

ILLINOIS ECONOMICS: ODE Economics Honor Society INFORMATION FORM: UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is an internationally recognized honor society for economics. Organizational objectives include recognition for scholastic achievement in economics and provision of a format for information regarding further study in economics, graduate school, and career opportunities. The web site for the national office is http://www.omicrondeltaepsilon.org/ and our chapter website is http://www.economics.illinois.edu/undergrad/students/ode/ ODE membership provides a reference to include on your graduate school or employment applications. Membership includes access to The American Economist which is a potential outlet for the publication of student essays and papers. ODE members are also eligible to compete in national essay competitions sponsored annually by ODE. The local chapter may organize additional events for ODE students. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Qualifying students must complete the application forms for the ILLINOIS Economics Chapter and the Membership Application Form, and pay the $45 membership cost by check. Honor Societies Founded in Philadelphia by the Society of Jesus in 1851, Saint Joseph's University is one of just 153 schools nationwide with a Phi Beta Kappa chapter and AACSB business school accreditation. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the United States. Each school is required to present evidence that its educational program and academic environment "effectively quicken the mind and spirit of its students and faculty by encouraging the full development of their human capacities. Phi Beta Kappa requires that its member institutions give primary emphasis to curricula liberal in character and purpose and that courses distinguished by these qualities shall constitute the principal requirements for the bachelor's degree." AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting throughout the world. AACSB International is devoted to the promotion and improvement of higher education in business administration and management. Alpha Sigma Lambda is the academic honor society for College of Professional & Liberal Arts students. This national honor society was founded in 1945 at Northwestern University. Saint Joseph's University is also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda honor society, the nation's only graduate interdisciplinary honor society. The society was founded for the purpose of recognizing the academic and leadership accomplishments of graduate and professional students. To become members, students must have a GPA of 3.85 or better and demonstrate capacity for leadership performance in the classroom and community.

Superior Academic Achievement
Bucknell University 1 SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT The University recognizes superior academic achievement in a variety of ways. Among these are appointment to the dean’s list, receipt of the President’s Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement, the granting of degrees with distinction, graduation with honors, election to honorary and professional societies, and the awarding of prizes. Dean’s List Undergraduates who successfully complete no less than 3.0 course credits during the semester and who earn a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher receive dean’s list honors for that semester. President’s Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, and graduating seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 receive the President’s Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement. Degrees with Distinction Degrees with distinction are awarded to bachelor’s degree candidates who have taken 30 percent or more of the number of courses required for graduation in courses numbered above 199. Additional requirements for graduation with distinction are as follows: A degree Summa Cum Laude is awarded to a candidate who has achieved at the time of graduation a grade point average of 3.90, or better, and who has been in residence at Bucknell University for at least three years. (That is, having earned at least 24 Bucknell course credits.) A degree Magna Cum Laude is awarded to a candidate who has achieved at the time of graduation a grade point average between 3.70 and 3.89 and who has been in residence at Bucknell University for at least three years.
