WWE: Andre the Giant Battle Royal Doesn’ WWE: Andre the Giant Battle Royal doesn't do anything to further a career Author : One staple of WrestleMania is the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. It was introduced before WrestleMania 30 as a way to honor WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant. When it was first introduced, it was on the main card and it was a great concept. However, since then it has become a kickoff staple and has been the WWE's attempt to get the lower tier wrestlers on the WrestleMania card. [Jon] Since the first Andre the Giant Battle Royal, we have seen Cesaro, Big Show, Baron Corbin, and Mojo Rawley win the trophy. Those wins have been their WrestleMania moment and that is about it. WWE for whatever reason doesn't feel to push any of the wrestlers who win the trophy. For example, you look at someone like Cesaro. When he won the first one at Wrestlemania 30, there were people who thought that WWE was finally going to do something with the Swiss superman. Since he won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, he has won the tag team titles twice (Once with Tyson Kidd and once with Sheamus). I may have a lot of hope into this, but, the WWE needs to do something with the superstar who wins the 1 / 2 Andre the Giant Battle Royal. You have unfortunately killed some of the credibility of the trophy because it doesn't mean anything. I feel that WWE should treat the Andre the Giant Battle royal like the Dusty Rhodes Classic. What I mean is they should give the winner of the Andre the Giant a push after WrestleMania. As we saw this year with the Dusty Rhodes Classic, the Authors of Pain won it and were push into the Tag team title picture. I will say it again, I am hopeful that WWE will do something with the winner of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Why can't WWE do the same with the Andre the Giant Battle Royal that they do with the Dusty Rhodes Classic? 2 / 2 Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).

Cubed Circle Newsletter 237 – Who's Huntin' Hunt? We (Ben) are back with the last of the 'Exam Session of Doom' newsletters for the time being with coverage of all the major news from the week in wrestling including Ospreay's BOSJ victory, the return of Brock Lesnar to the UFC, Cody Rhodes' bucket list, NXT Takeover: The End, Monday Night RAW and more! – Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor The Pro-Wres Digest for June 5th – June 11th Ben Carass Top Stories: While still under WWE contract, and with the approval of the company, Brock Lesnar will be fighting Mark Hunt at UFC 200 on July 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The return of the former UFC and WWE World Heavyweight Champion was officially announced at the UFC 199 show on 4/6 when he appeared at the very end of the commercial for UFC 200. On the broadcast, Joe Rogan appeared to have no idea what was going on and Mike Goldberg had to explain that Lesnar was coming back to fight. Hunt was named as Lesnar's opponent on 6/6 during an interview with Brock on ESPN's Sports Centre. Lesnar talked about regretting the decision to retire from MMA, which he made prior to WrestleMania 31 last year when he re-signed with the WWE. He also noted that he called Dana White first and things got rolling from there, with White and McMahon making “billionaire decisions” to put the deal together. Dave Meltzer reported in the Observer this week that Lesnar had a clause added to his WWE contract contract which allowed him to take one fight in the UFC and that Brock and the WWE had no influence in choosing the opponent.
