Carol S. Penning, Clerk Board of Trustees Michael T. Lawler Deresa A. Hoodland Ricardo Morales Robert M. Jaskiewicz Maria A. Zarate Sheldon L. Watts Welcome to The Brook Theatre! We are excited to present this years Spring Musical “The Lile ”!

Based on one of Hans Chrisan Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Lile Mermaid is a haunngly beauful love story for the ages. With music by eight‐me Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresisble songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World."

Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea , Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scule the seagull and Sebasan the crab to restore order under the sea.

What a ride it has been these past twelve months! When we started making preparaons back in April of 2017 it was a blast to dream of all the different possibilies we had with this show. We knew from the start that we had a chance to produce something special. Once we got to around August we started to realize just how grand of a task this would be. I can not express enough the amount of gratude and admiraon I have for our enre producon team. The countless hours that have been put in from all members included has been nothing short of special. I count myself blessed to be able to put on these elaborate producons that would not be possible without this amazing staff.

As is the case every year the amount of talent and growth I see from our students is incredible. One of the rewarding parts of being in my posion is I get to see their growth in many cases three to four years. Seeing them hone their cra over the years and grow as leaders may be the most rewarding part for me as the director. I am so pleased with this group of students. They have shown class, dedicaon, leadership, teamwork, and immense talent during this whole process.

Thinking back over the past year there are so many things to be proud of. It truly has been quite the journey. We have gone through our fair share of challenges as is to be expected with a producon of this size. My hope is that we might bring a night of entertainment to all of you which is why we put ourselves through this grind. I want to thank you for all of your support for these wonderful students. A tremendous shout out to my beauful and supporve wife, Allison. She has had to endure the many hours of me being away from home taking care of our four children. I love them dearly.

Please enjoy the show and I am thrilled for you to experience our journey “Under the Sea”.
