James and Caroline Beery File upload: This communication is from LGBCE (http://www.lgbce.org.uk) - Sent to Review Editor 2 Edward Davies-Gilbert [email protected] Knightsbridge Association Representative of a community group/organisation 16/04/2013 11:30 "I write on behalf of The Knightsbridge Association. Founded in 1961 it is the local amenity society for the area and is recognised by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) and the City of Westminster (WWC) as the consultative body for the area. It has a membership of around 1,000. The Association is concerned about the proposed changes for breaking up Brompton Ward by merging it in to neighbouring wards. The northern section joins Queensgate; the western part, Courtfield ward; and the remainder (southern and central parts) being amalgamated with Hans Town. Knightsbridge, which is already split between two councils, will be represented by three wards in total. The KA has always maintained that the status quo is the best way to manage this neighbourhood, as at present, Brompton Ward is ideally suited for dealing with local matters. We fully appreciate that the proposed changes are within one council but to cut through the natural established boundaries would be a retrograde step. To incorporate the V&A, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum in to the reconfigured Queensgate ward but annexing them from South Kensington, where they are naturally joined by Exhibition Road and the local tube and bus stops, is perplexing. Indeed there is even a pedestrian tunnel leading from the tube station to the museums. The proposed Queensgate ward means that it will stretch between the Cromwell Road Sainsbury’s in the west and Montpelier Street in the east with Cromwell Road/ Brompton Road as the southern boundary. The south of Brompton Road would be served by Hans Town ward. In our experience this would be the wrong solution. The problems on both sides of the Brompton Road are similar but very different to further along the Cromwell Road. It would therefore be judicious to keep this RBKC area of Knightsbridge within one ward. " Lawrence, Arion From: Fuller, Heather Sent: 03 April 2013 10:22 To: Lawrence, Arion Subject: FW: In support of the proposed boundary changes From: Mary White [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 03 April 2013 10:01 To: Reviews@ Subject: In support of the proposed boundary changes Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to support the proposed ward boundary changes, and am especially in support of the Labour group’s proposal for a three member Notting Dale and two member Norland ward as this more accurately reflects the communities of which we are a part. I should be most grateful if you would acknowledge receipt of my letter. Jane Whewell" PRINCES GATE MEWS RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION 20th May 2013 The Review Officer (RBKC) Local Government Boundary Commission for England Layden House, 76-86 Turnmill Street, London EC1M 5LG. Dear Sir/Madam, PROPOSED CHANGES TO BROMPTON WARD AND INCLUSION OF STREETS AND MUSEUMS NORTH OF CROMWELL GARDENS IN QUEEN’S GATE WARD I am writing on behalf of the Association and fellow Mews residents to express our deep concern about the proposed abolition of Brompton Ward and in particular about the suggestion that the Mews and the land north of Cromwell Gardens should be included in Queen’s Gate Ward – a suggestion we find very odd indeed and one which does not reflect the local communities or the natural ‘centre of gravity’ or ‘identity’ for our area. The Princes Gate Mews Residents’ Association was founded by my parents (residents since the early 1950s) in the late 1960s. Since the departure of the former Chair, long-term Mews resident Roy Anderson late last year, I have been acting as Chair of the Association. As a result, not only am I deeply familiar with the area (having lived in the Mews all my life) but in preparing this letter I have been able to draw on the knowledge of those who have lived in the area even longer. I have also spoken to fellow residents to seek their views and input. We find the suggestion that the Mews and the area to the immediate south and east be included in Queen’s Gate Ward frankly odd. The Mews and the area to the South have always naturally ‘looked’ towards Knightsbridge and towards South Kensington. An illustration of this in practice is what is now known as ‘the hole in the wall’. A WW2 bomb fell on a historic boundary wall to the east of Princes Gate Mews which gives pedestrian access to the Montpeliers and Knightsbridge (just near Harrods). So useful did this cut through become to Mews residents and others to the east of the Mews (in the Ennismores and near the north of Brompton Square) that when it was proposed to re-build the wall, there was an outcry. Eventually the wall was rebuilt with a ‘hole’ allowing Princes Gate and Ennismore Mews and Gardens’ residents to cut through to and from Knightsbridge on foot – the ‘hole’ is now marked with a plaque setting out this history.

Eucharist with the Ordination of Deacons by The Bishop of London assisted by the Area Bishops, and the Bishop Suffragan Thomas the Apostle Saturday 3rd July 2021 5 pm WELCOME TO ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL Today forty women and men are ordained to serve as deacons in the Church of God here at St Paul’s Cathedral. All Christians are called to serve Christ as they live their daily lives. Deacons are called to serve in a particular way, exercising the ministry of ‘diakonia’ – servanthood. We are a Christian church within the Anglican tradition (Church of England) and we welcome people of all Christian traditions as well as people of other faiths and people of little or no faith. Christian worship has been offered to God here for over 1400 years. By worshipping with us today, you become part of that living tradition. Our regular worshippers, supported by members of staff and a large number of volunteers, make up the cathedral community. We are committed to the diversity, equal opportunities and personal and spiritual development of all who work and worship here because we are followers of Jesus Christ. We use sustainably sourced communion wine at all celebrations of the Eucharist, and this order of service is printed on recyclable paper. Thank you for being with us today. If you need any help, please ask a member of staff. Please be assured of our continuing prayers for you when you go back to your homes and places of worship. As you prepare for worship, please be sensitive to the needs of those around you who may wish to pray quietly.

LOVE BUILD TRANSFORM! JESUS COMMUNITY LIVES ANNUAL REPORT!1 2017 ! !2 ! ST JOHN’S HAMPTON WICK ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2017 ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION Full name: St John the Baptist, Hampton Wick Church of England Diocese: Diocese of London Episcopal Area: Kensington Area Archdeaconry: Middlesex Archdeaconry Deanery: Hampton Deanery Location: Church Grove, Hampton Wick, KT1 4AL Website: www.stjohnshamptonwick.org Church Office: 020 8977 7733 / [email protected] OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES Our Vision is to Love Jesus, Build Community and Transform Lives. Everything we do is centred on this vision. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT St John’s was reopened in 2010 as a church plant from Holy Trinity Brompton and St Stephen’s Twickenham by the Bishops of London and Kensington, in consultation with the then Parish Vicar, The Rev’d David Lund, the Hampton Deanery and the Kensington Area Council. This was within the framework of a Bishop’s Mission Order (BMO) of the Church of England in the Kensington Area of the Diocese of London. On the 1st May 2017 a new Parish was established within the structures of the Church of England, by redividing the Parish between St Mark’s Teddington and St John’s Hampton Wick. This enables us to serve our local community better and support our vision within the new Parish boundaries. The new Parish is called St John the Baptist, Hampton Wick. The church is managed by the Clergy and Parochial Church Council (PCC), under the authority of the Archdeacon of Middlesex and the Bishop of Kensington. The legal and organisational umbrella for this ministry is currently the charity known as ‘The Mission Community of St John’s Kingston Bridge’ but will be transferred legally in 2018 to a new charity called St John the Baptist, Hampton Wick.
