Accelerator Programme Handbook 2020/21 Welcome to the Church Planters Accelerator Programme! We are delighted to have the opportunity to journey and support you over the upcoming 12 months as you prepare to plant a church. We have been praying that you will grow and flourish over this coming year and look forward to getting to know you and the team as God draws alongside you.

CRT’s vision is to play our part in the ‘evangelisation of the nations, the revitalisation of the church and the transformation of society’, by planting new churches in key locations across the Welcome nation. We dare to believe that, whilst being led by the Spirit, we can play our small part in reversing the tide of church decline and see the Kingdom of God grow in our nation.

Your leadership development is central to the future flourishing of your church and its impact in the context God is calling you into. CRT’s Accelerator Programme is designed to provide you with the best possible support, resource and training through a mixed model of ‘taught’ and ‘caught.’ Your training is designed to dove tail with your allocated Sunday Services, post training and ministry responsibilities. The curriculum is structured into 3 Academic to the Terms (Autumn, Spring and Summer) which include 26 weekly module sessions on Mondays 11-3.30pm including weekly homework assignments.

Each module is designed to provide you with best practice ministry and operational tools, grass roots experience from our national network of church planters, theological approaches to mission and ministry and a focus on your personal leadership development, which is pivotal to your future flourishing ministry and team. Accelerator We ensure that during the year you have completed; the School of preaching, prison and hospital visits, run an Alpha group, Homeless shelter and projects; attended the Marriage course and the Marriage retreat with your spouse. The AP is open for your church planting team to attend at any stage, with bespoke modules for your Spouse, Operations Manager, Worship, Children’s and Youth/Student Pastors.

Each module speaker has been chosen for their expertise in the area as well as being outstanding practitioners in their field. We hope that you will have the opportunity to ask Programme questions, glean from earlier planter’s experience and be well prepared and resourced for your first year of planting. We will be encouraging 1-1s with your spiritual director while resourcing you with a coaching qualification and site visits to existing CCRCs. The CRT team are here to support you through our operational and ministry Tool kits, 1-1 operational and buildings project management meetings and ongoing prayer.

George Bernard Shaw once said, ‘You see things; and you say ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?’. We too say why not – believing you and your team can bring fresh dreams of new life and new hope to a city. It can be a roller coaster ride and we will be cheering you on and praying for you at each stage of the journey.

Let the adventure begin!

36 37 Clergy Marriage Retreat

A weekend to invest in your marriage.

The Clergy Marriage Retreat takes place from Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd November 2020 at Wiston House in West Sussex, a beautiful, tranquil setting where couples can enjoy the comfortable surroundings, delicious food and space to relax.

First and foremost, the weekend will provide an opportunity for you to invest in your own marriage. There will be time to spend alone together as a couple. The sessions are designed to raise important and helpful conversations between you and are tailored to address the typical pressures on clergy marriages. Discussions as a couple will always be private.

Cost The Goring family are very generously hosting and sponsoring three quarters of the normal costs of a weekend at Wiston House. As a result we are able to offer the retreat at £390 per couple to cover accommodation and meals.

Our suggestion is that, if possible, the cost should be split three ways between the clergy couple, the Diocese (through the CME grant where allowed) and the , so that each is making an investment in the ongoing health of clergy marriages.

HTB will cover additional costs including resources, drinks and team costs.
