MEDIA RELEASE 10 March 2020 Nauru Airlines suspends flights to Marshall Islands and Kiribati Nauru Airlines has suspended all flights to Majuro after this Friday 13th March until further notice, following new restrictions by the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) banning international travel to the island destination. In response to the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in relation to Coronavirus, the RMI has suspended all international air travel until 22 March 2020, effective immediately. Nauru Airlines CEO Geoff Bowmaker said the airline was complying with the various health advisory requirements of each of the countries through which it flies to help keep residents and visitors safe from Coronavirus. “We are seeking permission to operate into Majuro this coming Friday 13th in order to accommodate passengers who are requesting to leave and will cease flying there until further notice,” Mr Bowmaker said. The suspension of flights into Majuro as well as the downturn in passenger demand generally as a result of Coronavirus travel restrictions will also result in suspension of our flights through Tarawa, Kiribati for the time being after this Friday 13th March. “While we regret to advise of this latest travel ban Nauru Airlines will continue to cooperate with regulatory authorities to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.” Mr Bowmaker said the onset of Coronavirus had seen reductions in travel to several Nauru Airlines destinations. “The current PHEIC has sparked a series of restrictions by authorities from Kiribati, Nauru, Fiji and Australia on travellers from overseas, and prospective travellers are urged to take note of these before planning any travel,” he said. “Since the onset of Coronavirus, we are seeing an overall decrease in demand for air travel to the island nations, as well as globally, with service cutbacks at airlines around the world ” For more information about the RMI travel ban, and other travel restrictions impacting Nauru Airlines flights, please visit www.nauruair.com ENDS Media enquiries: Nauru Airlines +(61 7) 3229 6455 .

When I was there in 1980, it was the home of Air Nauru with its three Boeing 737-200s and two 727-100s. It takes just half an hour at easy speed to drive around the island, passing battered Land Rovers cruising slowly in both directions, rap and heavy metal music blaring from a dozen amplifiers. Powerful motor bikes take to the roads, their crouching owners oblivious to the presence of island graveyards with their dusty headstones marking the final resting place of so many of these alcohol fuelled young motor-cycle riders, and reflecting a national tragedy. Immigration • U.S., Palau, and FSM Citizens are exempt from Visas with a valid Passport. • A 30-day visa-on-arrival will be granted for citizens of Australia and New Zealand, Canada, European Union (includes United Kingdom), South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines with the proper paperwork. • All others should use the following procedure: 1. Generally, an application for a visa should consist of the following: i. Completed application form (with two recent passport size photos) ii. Passport (valid for at least 6 months) iii.
