These new bags can be used for securing damp marijuana, documents, currency, or evidence with damp body fluids such as blood, semen, or saliva. Our Paper Evidence Bags are preprinted and include all the information required for proper evidence submission to the crime laboratory, including a chain of custody section. These evidence bags are made from a heavy-duty kraft paper stock, which is "breathable" and makes them ideal for a wide variety of evidence - from clothing containing body fluids to damp marijuana. Unlike other paper evidence bags, our bags are clearly marked EVIDENCE in bold letters. The write-on area is printed lower on the bag which allows for a double fold at the top of the bag to prevent loss of trace evidence.

Nylon has long been the preferred material for collection and storage of evidence which may contain solvents found in accelerants. Unlike "plastic" bags, solvents will not break down the nylon material of our Nylon Arson Evidence Bags, preventing the loss of flammables and hydrocarbons. These bags can be closed in the field using cable ties or permanently sealed back in the laboratory using a heat sealer. The clear material allows the evidence to be seen without opening the bag and can be easily marked using standard marking pens. For long term "stackable" storage, our bags can be placed in metal evidence containers or cardboard boxes.

Our 13.75" L x 10.5" W x 13.5" H (OD) reusable Insulated Specimen Shipping Box is constructed of 275 lb. test fiberboard with 1.5" thick styrofoam interior. When the box is used in conjunction with refrigerant gel packs or dry ice, specimens will remain refrigerated or frozen for several days. The Specimen Shipping Box is provided with two refrigerant gel pack labels affixed to the outside of the box and two "cover-up" dry ice labels which are affixed over the gel pack labels when dry ice is used to keep the specimen frozen while in transit to the laboratory. Our boxes comply with overnight carrier regulations for shipping refrigerated or frozen biological specimens.

These cardboard boxes feature tuck-in sides and front flaps for extra strength and security, and each box is printed with an area for recording information and chain of custody. Each box has a series of small holes punched in the bottom so that the weapon can be secured within the box using nylon cable ties. Our boxes are an excellent, nonthreatening way to display evidence in court.

Ties - Nylon Cable
Our 11-inch Nylon Cable Ties are available in either removable or permanently locking versions and will not scratch or damage evidence. Releasable Ties will allow a crime lab to remove weapons from the Weapons Collection and Storage Boxes in which evidence has been secured, then resecure the weapons back into the box using the same cable ties. Permanently Locking Ties feature a pull-tight locking closure and will not release, making them ideal for securing evidence tags to evidence.

This swab drying cabinet is designed to greatly reduce the drying time by blowing ambient air over the swab bulbs and, at the same time, lessening the possibility of contamination of the collected swabs during the drying procedure. Our handheld Electronic Distance Measuring Devices use ultrasound technology to accurately measure distances (99.5% ± .25” (1 cm.)) at both indoor and outdoor crime scenes.
Both of these devices work by sending out narrow beams of sound waves that bounce off solid “targets” and return to the handheld receivers. The receivers contain sophisticated electronics and microprocessors that convert elapsed time into a distance measurement which is shown in the easy-to-read LED display window. Both devices have a built-in calculator to add linear measurements and compute areas and volumes. Easy to understand instruction sheets are also included.
Reorder number EDMD (black) is equipped with a laser pointer to show you where you are aiming; however, it can only be used when the “target” is a flat surface, such as a wall or window. If the target is not flat, such as a tree trunk, light pole, etc., the sound waves may not return to the receiver.
Reorder number EDMDT (yellow) eliminates the requirement that the “target” be flat. This unit is supplied with an electronic “target” which can be mounted on a camera tripod or taped to or held on a curved or round surface, guaranteeing the receiver will be able to measure the distance.

Bureau Reference Scale

Shoe/Boot Photo Stands
This Shoe/Boot Photo Stand was developed to hold footwear in an upright position to assist crime laboratory personnel in the photographing and examination of footwear collected from a suspect. The stand can also be used for comparing the collected footwear to castings or lifted dust prints from a crime scene. Our heavy-duty Body Screen prevents the viewing a body at a crime scene, providing privacy for the victim and fewer onlookers to control.
Each 40" H x 6' L screen can be assembled and disassembled in a matter of minutes without the use of tools. Luminol Blood Detection Reagent Spray
Luminol is a reagent specifically formulated for the detection of blood at a crime scene, even if the blood is invisible to the human eye or if someone has attempted to wash the area. Hemident™ Presumptive Blood ID Kit
Used for the presumptive identification of bloodstains, Hemident™ is nondestructive and enables the investigator to retain the evidence intact for further laboratory analysis. Each test is a compact, self-contained unit, consisting of two ampoules of prescribed reagents within a disposable plastic tube.
To use Hemident™, simply swab the suspected blood stain/drop with a cotton- tipped swab (swab bulb may be moistened with water if suspected blood is dry), then break off wooden swab shaft and place swab bulb in the tube. Break the two ampoules which contain the reagent. If the stain/drop is blood, the swab and solution will turn blue-green in a few seconds. The reagents are capable of identifying down to one part per million of blood.
Hemident™ was designed for field test use and, as such, will not distinguish between human and animal blood. Laboratory analysis is necessary to determine the source of the blood.

Since its introduction in Europe in early 2001, Bluestar® Forensic has become the latent bloodstain reagent of choice for crime scene investigators.
Bluestar® is the most sensitive latent bloodstain reagent on the market. Invisible bloodstains produce an intense blue chemiluminescence (420 to 440 nanometer range) immediately after being sprayed with Bluestar®. Compared to traditional luminol reagent, Bluestar® is three times brighter, is luminescent longer and is visible to the naked eye in semidarkness.
Once a bloodstain has been located, the area can be sprayed again and again for further observation and photographing. Photographs can be taken with either a digital or a traditional camera, eliminating the need for expensive and sophisticated cameras and light sources.
Unlike other latent bloodstain chemiluminescence sprays, Bluestar® does not adversely affect DNA. After the stain has been located and photographed, samples of the bloodstain can be collected and submitted to your crime laboratory for DNA typing.
Preparing Bluestar® is simple and straightforward; simply tear open the foil pouch containing the two Bluestar® tablets and drop the tablets into a spray bottle containing 125 ml. of distilled water. In order to maintain the integrity and credibility of your evidence, it is imperative that your drying evidence be protected and contamination free. If you're drying blood stained or wet evidence on examination tables, on the floor, in jail cells, in shower stalls, or in evidence rooms, you run the risk of cross-contamination, loss of trace evidence, and lack of evidence security.
Our Mobile Evidence Drying Cabinets are designed to provide a secure, tamper-evident area for air-drying clothing, bed sheets, blankets, towels, etc., from homicides and sexual assault cases. The evidence drying cabinets are constructed of a sturdy PVC frame and floor pan, covered on all six sides with a unique synthetic mesh fabric that permits air-drying of evidence. The fabric does not absorb liquids, is easily cleaned with household detergents, and can be sprayed with a 10% bleach solution to eliminate blood borne pathogens and DNA cross-contamination.
The cabinets are equipped with plastic hangers, plastic zippers (to secure the access flap), a hanging mesh bag (for shoes, currency, or other small items), and quality locking wheels that allow you to move the cabinets from one location to another.
Self-locking evidence security tags may be purchased separately to provide tamper-evident "locks" to keep evidence secure during the drying processes. Our series of ductless, Downdraft Forensic Evidence Drying Cabinets perform the same function as units costing more than twice as much – they air-dry wet or damp evidence containing biological fluids and/or trace evidence while protecting laboratory personnel from odors, gases and particulates.
We offer both a 36" wide and 48" wide single door cabinet and a 60" wide double door cabinet. The double door design is similar to the single door cabinet except it is 60" wide, which allows the drying of large items such as bedspreads, blankets etc., and comes with two 200 cfm. centrifugal fans and two sets of filters to accommodate the larger inside dimensions.
Our cabinets are made of a heavy gauge polypropylene material which will not rust and is easily cleaned using household detergent and then sprayed with a 10% bleach solution to eliminate DNA cross-contamination from one case to another. Since our cabinets come with hard rubber casters, they are mobile and, therefore, can be easily moved from one location to another in your laboratory.
Our lockable Evidence Drying Cabinets incorporate a simplified design which will provide you with years of trouble- free service.

Forensic-Swab Trace Evidence Collection Swab
The new Forensic-Swab Trace Evidence Collection Swab is suited for the collection of both reference samples and evidence of DNA traces at crime scenes. The ventilation membrane in the tube base enables self-drying of the swab within the tube. Drying of the swab outside the tube as in standard systems becomes unnecessary, thereby excluding the risk of mix-up and contamination. The EtO sterilization method was specially developed to comply with the requirements of forensic analysis, including most stringent purity conditions in the production process, ensuring the absence of DNA collection. The Forensic-Swab is produced under stringent hygienic purity conditions. The completely assembled swab is individually wrapped, and the final product is subjected to a special EtO sterilization procedure developed for forensic applications. With a test procedure based on a detection limit of 0.023 ng. DNA/µl. extracted volume, absence of DNA is now guaranteed. A 62 bp. amplicon also enables the detection of partly degraded DNA (target gene: human telomerase reverse transcriptase (5p. 15.33), single-copy gene). The Forensic-Swab is packaged in a transport tube with a ventilation membrane. This ventilation membrane ensures a self-drying process in the tube and also protects the swab from contaminants. A dry swab prevents bacteria and mildew growth, which make analysis impossible and destroy the sample.

Operation of the System is straightforward. Simply remove the filter/nozzle assembly from the heat-sealed plastic bag, attach it to the vacuum hose which extends 5 ft., then vacuum the suspected area (cushions, couches, car interiors, etc.). Our Victim and Suspect Vehicle Paint Evidence Collection Kits are designed for collecting paint samples in hit-and-run cases. Both kits are supplied with detailed instruction sheets and all necessary components to ensure proper collection, preservation and documentation of the collected samples. These kits are supplied with heavy-duty surgical scalpel blades which are strong enough to allow the investigator to collect all layers of paint down to the vehicle's bare metal or fiberglass without breaking. Three blades are provided in each kit for collecting one "known" and two questioned samples. Both kits also come with a two-ply NCR Paper Vehicle Diagram Form to indicate exactly where the paint samples were collected from the vehicle.
