INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 3” BULL BAR 05-07 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE / 06-11 JEEP COMMANDER PART # 35-1001 PARTS LIST: 1 Bull Bar 4 10-1.50mm x 25mm Hex Head Bolts 1 Driver Side Mounting Bracket 4 10-1.50mm x 40mm Hex Head Bolts 1 Passenger Side Mounting Bracket 8 10mm Lock Washers 2 10mm Double Nut Plates 8 10mm ID x 30mm OD x 2.5mm Flat Washers 10mm Nut Plate (2 pcs) Passenger Side Driver Side Mounting Bracket Mounting Bracket PROCEDURE: 1. REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION. 2. Starting on the driver side of the vehicle, through bumper intake locate the three factory holes in the bottom of the radiator support (Figure 1). With nuts facing up and the wider side facing front of the vehicle, insert one of the 12mm Double Nut Plates through the inside square hole and oriented to small round hole and smaller square hole to the outside (Figure 2). NOTE: Repeat this step for passenger side. 3. Attach Mounting Brackets to the inside of Bull Bar Brackets using the included (4) 10mm x 25mm Hex Head Bolts, (4) 10mm Lock Washers, and (4) 10mm Flat Washers (Figure 3). Do not tighten at this time. 4. With help partially attach Bull Bar assembly to already inserted Nut Plates. Use the included (4) 10mm x 40mm Hex Head Bolts, (4) 10mm Lock Washers, (4) 10mm Flat Washers to attach Brackets to Nut Plates (Figure 4). 5. Level and adjust Bull Bar properly; then tighten all hardware at this time. 6. Do periodic inspections to the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight. To protect your investment, wax this product after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish. For stainless steel: Aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs on the finish. 2006 JEEP COMMANDER Using the Grand Cherokee platform and mechanical components, engineers have developed the slightly longer Commander. It differs from the Grand Cherokee in that it has a third row of seats. The Commander comes in Base and Limited trims and with a choice of engines—a 4.7-litre V6, a 4.-litre V8, and a 5.7-litre V8 HEMI. Interior and trunk Despite its height, the Commander is easy to get into. The front seats are very comfortable, and driver’s can obtain a good driving position. The power- adjustable brake and accelerator pedals are practical but should only be adjustable when the vehicle is in PARK. The back seat accommodates two adults comfortably. Legroom and headroom are generous. The middle seat splits 40/20/40 and folds down flat, taking the two head restraints with it. Getting into the rear seat is a challenge, making it unsuitable for anyone other than small children. The 50/50 rear seatback folds flat. The liftgate opens wide to reveal an almost complete lack of storage space— if all the seats are up. Fold down the last row and storage rises from a chintzy 212 litres to a spacious 1,028. With both rear seats down, storage space goes up once again, to a full 1,940 litres. Photo: Jeep Convenience and safety The interior is well finished in good-quality materials. Soundproofing is generally good, but there is some occasional wind noise. There are also a number of handy storage areas. The instruments and hand controls are well placed and accessible; but unfortunately the cruise-control buttons on the steering wheel are not lit at night.
