Camp ® Makes Its First Trek to China

October 11, 2007, Beijing - The world’s greatest off-road lifestyle event has come to the world’s most populous and geographically diverse country.

The world-famous Camp Jeep® made its maiden trek in the Middle Kingdom today through muddy ravines and off-

road obstacles in northern Beijing. Hundreds of Chinese Jeep enthusiasts tested the off-road capability of their Jeep SUVs, in addition to enjoying music, Bar-B-Que, rock climbing, all-terrain vehicles and other outdoor activities during this three-day event.

“As one of the most famous and iconic vehicles on the planet, Jeep symbolizes outdoor, rugged, go-anywhere, do- anything individualism,” said Phil Murtaugh, CEO of LLC’s Asia Operations. “Through off-roading, music, food and family enjoyment, Camp Jeep captures the essence of the free spirit and enjoyment of the brand. More and more Chinese consumers are increasingly differentiating themselves through leisure and lifestyle activities, which include personal transportation. Camp Jeep is an ideal platform to offer them a chance to experience the Jeep lifestyle first-hand.”

The Camp Jeep in Shunyi is based on the same format as those held in the USA and Europe. It is divided into multiple areas, such as the Jeep Owners Center, and Jeep Commander Camp, Camp, Performance Area and Open-air Area, all built by professionals of America Camp Jeep, covering a total area of 50,000 square meters.

“Camp Jeep has become the world’s most significant single-brand 4x4 customer event. We are very pleased that China’s first Camp Jeep is here in Beijing. With the extensive participation of Jeep fans, we are fully convinced that China’s first Camp Jeep will be a big success. We will continue to have Camp Jeep in China so that Jeep enthusiasts here will be able to enjoy the unique spirit of Jeep through this annual event,” said Simon Elliott, President and CEO of Chrysler Group China Sales Ltd.

More than 2,000 Jeep owners and enthusiasts with more than 600 Jeep vehicles will test their SUVs on the off-road track, as well as participate in rock climbing, soccer, four-wheeled motorcycle competition, and enjoy a firework performance.

Camp Jeep China also offers Jeep fans a prime opportunity to experience the off-road performance of the all-new Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Compass, all recently launched in China. The premium Jeep Commander and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles will have an off-road area especially suited for their capability. Likewise, the sporty and fashionable Jeep Compass will have its own area, customized to demonstrate its on- and off- road qualities. During their experience, Jeep enthusiasts will be able to hone their driving skills under many different on- and off-road conditions, and experience the different attributes of each Jeep vehicle.
