There have not been reports of this syndrome problem for applications where a molecular sieve (zeolite) desiccant on an aluminum substrate EW is used.

Inadequate building operations leads to preventable excess energy consumption along with failure to maintain acceptable occupant comfort. Studies have shown that as much as 30% of building energy consumption can be eliminated through more accurate sensing, more effective use of existing controls, and deployment of advanced controls (Fernandez et al. 2012; Fernandez et al. 2014; AEDG 2008). Studies also have shown that 10% to 20% of the commercial building peak load can be temporarily managed or curtailed to provide grid services (Kiliccote et al. 2016; Piette et al. 2007). Moisture forms on the evaporator coil and is collected in the condensate tray, which is equipped with a permanent drain. The cooled air then passes through the hot condenser coil where it is reheated using the same energy removed during the cooling phase, plus the additional heat generated by the compressor. The air is, therefore, discharged from the dehumidifier at a slightly higher temperature with a lower absolute humidity than that which entered. Continuous circulation of air through the dehumidifier gradually reduces the relative humidity within the area.
