This research had been requested, as it was noted that some information previously traced concerning this nominee might, if proven, exclude him from eligibility. In view of this further research the Advisory Committee has recommended not to continue with this nomination. A recommendation was made that the awarding of this fourth plaque be held over to 2016, so that five eligible nominations would be considered for this period. The Minutes held on 3 June 2015, were moved by Councillor Marano and seconded by Graham Humphrey. 3 SELECTION OF SUCCESSFUL NOMINATIONS FOR PLAQUES FOR 2016 Eleven nominations were presented to the Advisory Committee for consideration, consisting of seven new applications for 2016, plus four applications from previous years which the Advisory Committee had decided to rollover for further consideration with the next round of submissions. After discussion, and reference to the Selection Criteria, it was decided that the Local History staff should research the following: Famous people: John Fairfax Founder of the Sydney Morning Herald, Foundation Director of AMP Address: Ginaghulla (Bellevue Hill). Michael Guilfoyle Nurseryman – experimental gardens and propagation of exotic plants Address: Guilfoyle Park, Double Bay (location of exotic nursery). Note: The application for Michael Guilfoyle also included mention of his son William Guilfoyle. William was also a nurseryman and became the curator of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Page 2 Annexure 1 Woollahra Plaques Advisory Committee Minutes Melbourne. A nomination for commemoration of Donald Friend as well as a multiple nomination for Lyne Park Rose Bay, proposing a series of six plaques commemorating an aspect of history of the park was rejected as not meeting the guidelines for eligibility for a plaque. It was agreed that the eligible submissions considered for a plaque in 2016 be added to the “living list” of ongoing proposals for 2017. • Legislative Assembly
5215 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY Thursday 8 September 2011 __________ The Speaker (The Hon. Shelley Elizabeth Hancock) took the chair at 10.00 a.m. The Speaker read the Prayer and acknowledgement of country. APPROPRIATION BILL 2011 DUTIES AMENDMENT (FIRST HOME—NEW HOME) BILL 2011 Agreement in Principle Debate resumed from 6 September 2011. Mr JOHN ROBERTSON (Blacktown—Leader of the Opposition) [10.00 a.m.]: This is a budget that hurts the very people that elected this Government. This is a budget that rests on the back of pensioners, foster carers, first home buyers and the most vulnerable in our society. In a blatant breach of one election promise after another the Premier has sacked 5,000 workers, cut wages and conditions, slugged a $1 billion stamp duty tax on first home buyers, increased rents for pensioners and slashed the allowances for foster carers. But there is more to this budget than meets the eye. In fact, much of the substance has been deliberately hidden from the people of New South Wales. The frightening, unwritten truth is that there is so much more to come. With $8 billion of cuts still to be made, the threat of an axe hangs over every public sector worker in New South Wales, and every vital service. We know the Premier is going to close three jails. Does that mean he is going to privatise the rest of them? We know he is going to lease the desalination plant. Is that the first step to selling off Sydney Water? We know he is going to privatise ferries.

  • 2019 Manly-Warringah Rugby League Football Club Limited Annual Report 2019
MANLY-WARRINGAH RUGBY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 2019 MANLY-WARRINGAH RUGBY LEAGUE FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED ANNUAL REPORT 2019 2 FOREWORD TO THE REPORT Welcome to the 2019 Annual Report of the Manly-Warringah Rugby League Football Club (MWRLFC). We produce this report each year as our contribution to the history and record keeping of the Club and the Sea Eagles. The MWRLFC in its current and previous form (the Manly-Warringah District Rugby League Football Club) has produced an Annual Report every year since 1947. By producing this report, we do not purport to represent ourselves as the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Limited (MWSE Ltd) which is a separate legal entity administering and funding the Team. We sincerely thank the current private owners of the Sea Eagles - the Penn family, Andrew Michael and Gary Wolman - who continue to financially support the Sea Eagles. What should not be forgotten or ignored however is that the MWRLFC is also a minority owner of the MWSE Ltd. That means that MWRLFC members also have an ownership stake in the MWSE Ltd, the Sea Eagles. The MWRLFC holds the Preference Share in the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Ltd which gives our members, through their right to vote, determination over the Team’s name, colours and its home ground, as well as two voting positions on the MWSE Ltd Board which has seven members. That’s why it’s important that the MWRLFC remains a strong voice for our members. Our aim this year was to grow our membership, which we did successfully, through the specially designed, individually numbered MWRLFC membership cap.
