Ordained ministers are crucial to this task, so I sketch out here the kind of priests we are eager to come and work with us. First and foremost, we are looking for joyful and hopeful disciples and ambassadors of Christ: people who share the Gospel with energy and commitment, in word and deed - and above all with love. We are not looking for people who see themselves as omni- competent, but who are rather committed to setting the whole people of God free in mission, ministry, and in loving service. Further, we are looking for people who, on this journey, are imaginative and realistic, creative and determined and are hopeful of a better future. But we also want to work with those who recognise that they are not perfect and will sometimes fail, who learn from their mistakes and will take the initiative in seeking reconciliation with others. We are convinced that all ministers need the support and companionship of others and we help priests in a number of ways so that they never work alone. In this spirit, we encourage priests who can forge good relations with others and actively collaborate with them for the sake of the Kingdom to join us here in the Diocese of Truro. Finally we are looking for people who will love, value and serve Cornwall: a wonderful place with its own very distinctive identity and Christian heritage. -

Infrastructure is the basic physical and organisational facilities needed for a community to function and grow.. The capacity, quality and accessibility of services and facilities are all critical factors in ensuring that people can enjoy living, working and visiting our town. Infrastructure Requirements to Enable Growth Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group Liskeard Neighbourhood Plan Infrastructure to Enable Growth Infrastructure is the basic physical and organisational facilities needed for a community to function and grow. When planning for the long-term growth of Liskeard, it is vital that new development is supported by the necessary infrastructure, and that existing inadequacies are resolved. The capacity, quality and accessibility of services and facilities are all critical factors in ensuring that people can enjoy living, working and visiting our town. This report notes the infrastructure needs estimated to meet the requirements of the Cornwall Local Plan (as at July 2016) i.e. the needs of the new population generated by 1400 additional dwellings and the traffic/drainage requirements of up to 17.55 ha of employment land. It also notes where infrastructure is already inadequate and proposes improvements where possible. POOL C.ORNISH is a Celtic language, closely akin to Welsh and Breton, which remained the ordinary spoken language of most Cornish people until about 1500 and of a steadily decreasing minority until the late 18th century, its last survival being confined to small areas of the Penwith and Lizard peninsulas in the far west of Cornwall. Dolly Pentreath of Mousehole, who died in 1777, was not, as is commonly believed, the last to speak Cornish, but was certainly one of the last native speakers, and by 1800 at the very latest Cornish had finally died out as a spoken language, its revival as such being then more than a century in the future and totally unforeseen. It never- theless survived in traditionally remembered sayings and phrases, in hundreds of dialect words, but principally in thousands of names of places. Not only every village and farm, but also every field and prominent natural feature had its own name, and in the far west where the language survived the longest these names are nearly all Cornish, the few English ones being mostly modern. Generally, the further east in Cornwall one goes, the earlier Cornish gave‘ place to English and the smaller is the proportion of Cornish names, until in Tamar-side parishes they are a small minority. In the east, Cornish names often contain certain words as they were spelt at an earlier stage in the development of the language than those in the west, re- fiecting the earlier date at which use of the language ceased; thus nans, valley, is almost invariably found in names as nance in the west and mmt (the earlier form) in the east. -

Davies National Rivers Authority Environmental Protection Manager South West R egion ANNUAL CLASSIFICATION OF RIVER WATER QUALITY 1992: NUMBERS OF SAMPLES EXCEEDING TOE QUALITY STANDARD - FWS/93/012 This report shows the number of samples taken and the frequency with which individual determinand values failed to comply with National Water Council river classification standards, at routinely monitored river sites during the 1992 classification period. Compliance was assessed at all sites against the quality criterion for each determinand relevant to the River Water Quality Objective (RQO) of that site. The criterion are shown in Table 1. A dashed line in the schedule indicates no samples failed to comply. This report should be read in conjunction with Water Quality Technical note FWS/93/005, entitled: River Water Quality 1991, Classification by Determinand? where for each site the classification for each individual determinand is given, together with relevant statistics. The results are grouped in catchments for easy reference, commencing with the most south easterly catchments in the region and progressing sequentially around the coast to the most north easterly catchment. This information will help you to make the right choices for your day out. Nearly half of Dartmoor is registered common land. Under the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985, a right of access was created for persons on foot or horseback. This right extends to those using wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters, although one should be aware that the natural terrain and gradients may curb access in practice.
