A space for interaction, friendship, and peace The PyeongChang Olympic Stadium was designed with an inspiration from the PyeongChang Olympic emblem. The pentagon shape symbolises the traditional five moral codes of ethics, and also the five ambitions of the PyeongChang Olympic Games — culture, environment, economics, peace, and information and communications technology (ICT).

The Stadium is a combination of different geometrical shapes — circle, square, and triangle — representing heaven, earth, and mankind respectively, and the combination of these shapes represent harmony and convergence, the founding ideas of Korean traditional values.

With five different entrances to the stage, it offers a versatile movement for any performance segment which the audience can enjoy at a proximity distance, enabling everyone to feel connected and engaged, the very ambition of the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games.
