em 4438 £1·15 EXCHANGE OF NOTES EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF AND AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ROMANIA FOR THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF INVESTMENTS SIGNED AT LONDON ON 13 JULY 1995' TO THE ISLE OF MAN AND THE BAILIWICKS OF GUERNSEY AND JERSEY

No.1 The Embassy Bucharest to the Ministry ofForeign Affairs for Romania Bucharest 25 February 1999 Note No: 21199 Her 's Embassy presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and has the honour to refer to the Agreement made between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irelanli and the Government of Romania for the Promotion and Protection of Investments at London on J3 July 1995. In accordance with the provision of Article l(e)(i) thereof it is proposed that the Agreement shall be extended to the Isle of Man and the Bailiwicks of Guernsey and Jersey. If this proposal is acceptable to the Government of Romania, the Embassy suggests that the present note and the Government of Romania's reply to that effect shall constitute an Agreement between the two Governments which shall enter into force on the date of the reply. Her Britannic Majesty's Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the aSsurances of its highest consideration.

22 March 1999 Nr. K(Ol)1796 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania presents its complements to Her Britann' Majesty's Embassy in Bucharest and with reference to its Verbal Note no. 21199, dated ~~ February 1999, has the honour to state the followmg:

The romanian competent authorities accept the extension to the Isle of Man and the Bailiwicks of Guernsey and Jersey of the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Promotion and Protection of Investments signed at London on 13 July 1995; The above mentioned Verbal Note of the Embassy and the present Verbal Note shall constitute an agreement, entering into force on the day of this Note, namely 22 March 1999. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania avails itself of this opportunity to renew to Her Britannic Majesty's Embassy the assurances of its highest consideration.
