Peanut Butter & Jam Concert Series opens July 13

KENOSHA- The band Libido Funk Circus opens the 16th season of the Peanut Butter and Jam concert series on July 13, performing dance and rock on the Meijer stage at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 54th St. and Sixth Ave.

Presented by the City of Kenosha and Happenings Magazine, the free public concerts take place at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. every Thursday July 13- Aug. 31.

The 2017 season

July 13: Libido Funk Circus features everyone’s favorite disco hits, including dance and from the ‘60s through today, serving as an always-entertaining mix of music. This group was originally formed in 1996 as an over-the-top tribute to the disco music of the ‘70s.

July 20: Hey Cowboy plays country favorites note-for-note with no gimmicks, covering artists like , , , , Garth Books and more. Audiences will hear all the classics, as well as current songs from the Awards.

July 27: Lil’ Ed and The Imperials brings its soulful sounds from Chicago for a ninth appearance at the PB&J concert series. Lil’ Ed and The Blues Imperials has been standing tall for almost 30 years with a big sound.

Aug. 3: Big Al Wetzel performs a spectrum of fan favorites from every genre, including rock, country, pop, blues, funk and reggae. After a decade with act Hello Dave, Al Wetzel relocated to Wisconsin to form his own act, teaming up with some like-minded musicians to entertain audiences.

Aug. 10: Epic rocks out the best of the ‘80s, including , Journey, Poison, REO, Prince and more. Epic puts its all into every show ever since the band’s formation in 2004 in the Southern Chicago suburbs.

Aug. 17: Landslide highlights the best of , covering many of the band’s timeless classics. The band has performed such hits as “Go Your Own Way” and “The Chain” at some of the largest venues in the Kansas City area.

Aug. 24: Copper Box brings energy and a mountain of instruments with its Roots/ Americana quartet. This band has been performing for more than 14 years, and returns to PB&J with upbeat feet-tapping music.

Aug. 31: Tynan returns to PB&J with its 11 piece horn driven performance in a tribute to favorite bands from the ‘60s and ‘70s including Chicago, the Blues Brothers, and Blood Sweat & Tears. Without any back tracks or lip syncing, this band is 100 percent live.
