Sold for: $ 3,500.00 Lot #700 (Sale Order 700 of 715) to onsite This No. 20K speaking tube desk telephone was used for hotel service between 1903 1906. It is equipped with a high resistance lettered White Solid Back sevendigit beveled transmitter code No. 225, and a code No. 129 unipolar low resistance watch case receiver. The base and shaft have been reproduced but the speaking tube and receiver are original. Size 13" T. Williams Abbott Electric Co. 1899 Potbelly. Sold for: $ 2,500.00 Lot #701 (Sale Order 701 of 715) to onsite Very rare WilliamsAbbott potbelly in excellent original condition. Marked transmitter and marked "milk bottle" outside terminal receiver. WilliamsAbbott was established in 1895 by Joseph Williams in Cleveland, Ohio and sold to the Federal Telephone & Telegraph Company in 1907. Outstanding condition, very rare telephone. Condition (Very Good). Size 10" T. 1900 No. 10 Black Tapered Shaft. Sold for: $ 1,300.00 Lot #702 (Sale Order 702 of 715) to onsite Rare black Western Electric No. 10 tapered shaft desk stand with marked back cup. Most No. 10 tapered shafts were nickel plated but Western Electric started painting their candlesticks right after the year 1900 rather than nickel plating them, because it was cheaper. This candlestick has a Western Electric outside terminal "pony" receiver. Original wooden base plate. Size 12" T. 1899 Couch & Seeley Co. Potbelly and Receiver. Sold for: $ 3,500.00 Lot #703 (Sale Order 703 of 715) to onsite Beautiful, rare Couch & Seeley potbelly with a marked transmitter and marked outside terminal long pole receiver. Please see the original ad from an 1899 Telephone Magazine and a letterhead from a bill sent in September 1900, both of which show this candlestick. Outstanding original condition. Size 11" T. 1899 Rawson Electric Co. Potbelly. Sold for: $ 5,500.00 Lot #704 (Sale Order 704 of 715) to onsite It was not uncommon for telephone manufacturers to partner and allow private labeling on their telephones. With its fluted shalf, wooden potbelly base, this desk set was made by the HoltzerCabot Telephone Company for the Rawson Electric Company. There is a metal tag on the base, marked transmitter and correct HoltzerCabot outside terminal receiver. There are a few Rawson Electric Company wood wall phones out there but the Rawson Candlestick is an extremely rare telephone. Sold for: $ 1,600.00 Lot #705 (Sale Order 705 of 715) to onsite Beautiful re nickeled Eureka tapered shaft desk stand with marked transmitter and correct Eureka receiver. Also a scan showing this tapered shaft telephone from an original Eureka advertisement in 1902 and an original article showing this exact telephone. This is an extremely rare telephone. Size 11" T. 1898 Chicago Telephone Supply Co. Desk Set. Sold for: $ 1,900.00 Lot #706 (Sale Order 706 of 715) to onsite Beautiful Chicago straight shaft on a round wooden base. Great old phone with all parts in the base. Metal tag on the base and older Chicago transmitter. Steer horn switch hook and unmarked outside terminal long pole receiver. Great scan from an original 1899 Chicago catalog. Size 12" T. Automatic Electric Strowger with Black Base. Sold for: $ 4,500.00 Lot #707 (Sale Order 707 of 715) to onsite This is a rare Strowger potbelly 11digit dial desk set, but this one has the smaller, early style transmitter and forked spear hook with rounded bulbous ends and a ring button in the base. This button took the place of the previously required magento generator. The base is unusual because it is painted black rather than the more common nickel plated base. Outstanding original condition including original base plate and everything inside the base. Size 12" T. 1901 North Electric Co Type "F" Potbelly Desk Set Sold for: $ 2,500.00 Lot #709 (Sale Order 709 of 715) to onsite North Electric potbelly desk stand with marked transmitter, marked North Electric receiver and steer horn switch hook. Outstanding original condition including a wiring diagram on the inside of the base plate. The scan is from an original ad in Electrical World & Engineer, June, 1902. Size 11" T. 1904 WilliamsAbbott Electric Co. Sold for: $ 800.00 Lot #710 (Sale Order 710 of 715) to onsite Beautiful WilliamsAbbott straight shaft "oil can" desk stand with marked transmitter and marked, Williams "milk bottle" outside terminal receiver. The scan is from an original WilliamsAbbott Electric Company ad in 1904. This telephone is in outstanding original condition. Size 11 1/2" T. 1902 Sterling Electric Co. Fluted Shaft Desk Set. Sold for: $ 2,500.00 Lot #711 (Sale Order 711 of 715) to onsite Very rare Sterling fluted shaft with a beveled transmitter and marked back cup. Please see the scan from an original December, 1902 advertisement in Western Electrician magazine that includes this Sterling fluted shaft. The ad offers a definition from the Webster dictionary of "Sterling" Genuine; pure; of excellent quality. It goes on to say that when you buy Silverware, you look for the "Sterling" mark. Sterling candlesticks had a very distinctive hooked transmitter mount behind the transmitter. There is also a second scan from an ad in the American Telephone Journal from 1904. Sold for: $ 1,500.00 Lot #712 (Sale Order 712 of 715) to onsite Extremely rare Sterling Electric fat shaft with marked transmitter back cup. This candlestick is taller than most and it has the unique curved hook transmitter mount that is unique to Sterling. It also has a marked, Sterling receiver. The company was founded in 1898 in Chicago but moved to LaFayette, Indiana in 1899. You will occasionally see a Sterling fluted shaft candlestick (which looks almost exactly the same except for the fluted shaft) but you may never come across another Sterling fat shaft candlestick. Condition (Excellent). Size 12 1/2" T. Maxim Glass Mouthpieces. Sold for: $ 325.00 Lot #713 (Sale Order 713 of 715) to onsite Maxim antiseptic glass mouthpiece, in box with instructions, WE threads, box of medicated air filter. Condition (Excellent). Size 2 1/2" L. American Electric Telephone Co. Desk Set. Sold for: $ 600.00 Lot #714 (Sale Order 714 of 715) to onsite American Electric straight shaft desk stand with marked transmitter and Burns outside terminal receiver. Nickel shaft on black cast base. Shield cut out in switch hook. The scan is from an original ad in the 1904 issue of The American Telephone Journal magazine showing this American Electric desk set. These are rare and much harder to find than common Western Electric desk sets. Size 11" T. Telerad Radio Silencer. Sold for: $ 75.00 Lot #715 (Sale Order 715 of 715) to onsite Comes in original box. Box is in poor condition, silencer looks unused. When stick phone is removed from the device, the radio will be turned off to reduce back ground noise. Condition (Excellent). Size Largest: 7 1/4" L. Sold for: $ 1,000.00 Lot #721 (Sale Order 721 of 715) to onsite As the Western Electric No. 10 tapered shaft was transitioning to the 20B nickel plated straight shaft, between 1900 and 1904, there were some tapered shaft desk sets mounted on 20B bases. This is a No. 10 mounted on a 20B base. Outside terminal long pole receiver. Size 12" T. Bell Systems Desk Telephone.
