We particularly welcome the players, officials and supporters that have made the journey East from Taunton and we hope you enjoy your evening with us and safe journey home! Congratulations to Taunton Town on winning the title that they have thoroughly deserved and good luck for next season as they move into the Southern Premier League. Both sides come into the game on the back of draws at the weekend. Taunton drew with fellow high-flyers, Wimborne Town. Whilst the Citizens came from behind to draw 1-1 away at Swindon Supermarine, thanks to Rob Carr’s late second-half leveller. In recent weeks, there have been lots of goings-on in the former capital. Pat Cox has left the club by mutual consent. Whilst Paul Murray and David Malone will be remaining at the club, albeit with Paul Murray in a different capacity. E R Bell, Adrian R. Brooks, Chris Markham, Tom ̈ RECEIVED : 13 JANUARY 2013 ̈ ACCEPTED : 11 MARCH 2013 Abstract This paper analyses the 53 managerial sackings and resignations from 16 stock exchange listed English football clubs during the nine seasons between 2000/01 and 2008/09. The results demonstrate that, on average, a managerial sacking results in a post-announcement day market-adjusted share price rise of 0.3%, whilst a resignation leads to a drop in share price of 1% that continues for a trading month thereafter, cumulating in a negative abnormal return of over 8% from a trading day before the event. -

Bristol Rovers Former Players Association Golf Day 2019 The Kendleshire / 13th June BRFPA Annual Golf Day 2019 Judgement Day The morning of 13th June dawned bright and…damp, very damp in fact! As I (Keith Brookman) headed up the motorway to the Kendleshire for the BRFPA 3rd Annual Golf Day, the rain was hammering down and the spray off of the motorway made for a pretty miserable journey. As I drove into the golf club, I half expected to see signs saying; ‘Fairways Flooded’ or ‘Greens Underwater’ and ‘No Golf Today’. I was pleasantly surprised, therefore, to learn that it takes a lot for the Kendle- shire to call a golf event off and the wet weather certainly wasn’t a concern to any of the staff at this superb venue. I arrived in good time and thought I would be first there; how wrong can you be! Andy Rammell and BRFPA President Billy Clark were already deep in conversa- tion, while BRFPA Chairman Tony Mills was the first committee member I spotted. Backtracking for just a moment, how good it was to see Andy Rammell at his first BRFPA event. The striker who became a Rovers legend in just 12 games, looks fit enough to still be playing. Now living in Bournemouth, he admits that golf is now his first love and he seldom, if ever, watches football at all. As bacon roll and coffee time approached, the rain continued to fall…heavily! It didn’t appear to have deterred anyone, though, and twelve former players duly arrived ready to show what they could do out on the golf course. -
