A NEW DORM at DEERFIELD ACADEMY

Austin, Head of School We invite you to join us in building a new dorm at Deerfield. A distinguishing feature of Deerfield, and a cornerstone of this community, is our residential program, with nearly 570 boarding students living in 16 dormitories alongside faculty residents. Designed by award-winning firm ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge, Deerfield’s new dormitory will take its place among our storied buildings and contribute greatly to the student experience. Only steps away from the D.S. Chen Health and Wellness Center, the dorm will be built adjacent to DeNunzio and across from Rosenwald-Shumway, affording it a prominent place on campus. The dormitory will not only provide living space for students, but will support a critical and ongoing need at Deerfield: attracting and retaining outstanding teachers. Increasingly, faculty members come to Deerfield with a spouse and children, and creating appealing spaces for them is a top priority. The new dorm will include four faculty apartments—2 three-bedroom faculty apartments and 2 two-bedroom faculty apartments.
