    ORIGINAL ARTICLE Client Satisfaction Regarding Family Planning Services in Reproductive Center at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore FARAH REHMAN1, ABDUL REHMAN JANJUA2, HUMERA SHAHZAD3 ABSTRACT Background: Patient satisfaction is one the utmost goals of any health system. Patient’s perceptions about health care system have been seen largely ignored by health care managers in developing countries. Family planning has a major role in reducing maternal and newborn mortality rates and improving the health of women and children. Aim: To describe family planning services being provided at Reproductive Health Services A (RHS-A) Center in a teaching hospital and to explore the satisfaction level of clients using these services. Methods: This descriptive study was included 91 subjects and carried at Family Planning OPD Reproductive Health Services (RHS-A) Center Jinnah Hospital Lahore over a period of one month. Married women in reproductive age who were using family planning services and willing to participate in the study were included. Subjects reporting for emergency and surgical services were excluded. Results: Out of 91 respondents, only (33%) of the clients was satisfied with the available services, whereas rest (67%) was unsatisfied with one or other aspect of the provided services. Majority (62%) were unsatisfied with the availability of methods and some (56%) were unsatisfied with staff attitude, (89%) of respondents were unsatisfied with the working hours of health facility whereas 52(57.1%) were unsatisfied with the behavior of staff and 36(39.6%) were satisfied with waiting time before examination. Conclusion: Improving the attitude of health care providers and spending time on counseling as well as ensuring provision of information and availability of methods will help in improving the services.

Abstract Objectives: To assess the knowledge, attitude and practices of dentists of public and private sector in Lahore about Hepatitis B and C infection. Study type and settings: This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted on private dental practitioners and public sector dental surgeons working in hospitals of Lahore. Subjects and Methods: Private sector dentists of Lahore working in Shahdara, Badami Bagh, Mughalpura, Baghbanpura, Gulberg, Shadman, Mozang, Feroz pur Road, Model Town, Multan Road, Johar Town and Tohkher Niaz Baig were selected for the study. In the public sector hospitals, dental surgeons were selected from Demont Morency Dental College and Hospital, Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital, Govt. Mozang Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Lahore General Hospital, Mian Munshi Hospital, Sheikh Zaid Hospital, Railway Hospital, Wapda Hospital and Combined Military Hospital by using convenient sampling technique. A self-administered, close-ended questionnaire was used and information was gathered about their knowledge, attitude and practices for HBV/HCV infection and its prevention. Data was entered in the SPSS-13 computer program. Frequency and percentages were calculated for different segments and comparison between the two groups was performed by using z-test for proportion. p-value ≤0.05 was considered significant. Results: A total of 209 dentisits agreed to participate in the study (105 in private and 104 in public sector).

Article Received: June 2019 Accepted: July 2019 Published: August 2019 Abstract: Objective: To analyze and compare the level of stress of Post-graduate residents in Public and Private sector hospitals. Study Design: A cross-sectional comparative study. Place and Duration: In two major Hospitals of Lahore, Services and Shalamar Hospital for one year period from October 2017 to October 2018. Methodology: A total of 207 doctors were selected with the possibility of unsuitable sampling technique. The main result was a higher stress level of medical or resident apprentices. Result: 62.3% of the 207 physicians in the training were under stress. The proportion of stressed women was 66.3%. The majority of PGs experienced high levels of stress with 67.2%. A large proportion of approximately 69.7% of the stressed physicians have low-income. This study was not statistically significant in terms of different socioeconomic and demographic variables including sex, age, specialty, monthly income and university. Conclusion: In both hospitals the stress level of the undergraduate students was high. It was found that there was a high level of stress among the apprentices, but no risk factors showed a significant relationship with stress.

Ibrar (DEO) Maria Shafique (S&DA) Sadia Hanif (JC) Background History A piece of land measuring one square and seven acres i.e. (256 Kanals) situated on Ferozpur, Road, Lahore was proposed for beggar house. The foundation was laid down by her Excellency Begum Naheed Sikandar Mirza w/o Governor General of Pakistan on 27-02-1958. The first phase of the building was completed in late 1958. An opening ceremony was held on 30- 09-1958 by her Excellency Begum Naheed Sikandar Mirza. The Post-Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) was established in 1974 in the building of Experimental Medicine Department of King Edward Medical College (KEMC), Lahore. The Lahore General Hospital started functioning in the existing building of proposed Beggar House. At that time, the hospital was used as convalescent home for the over flow of patients of Mayo Hospital, Lahore and there were no proper treatment / Diagnostic facilities available at Lahore General Hospital. The department of Neuro-Surgery of KEMC was setup at Lahore General Hospital in 1966. This department was temporarily housed in old building till 1981. After the birth of Post-Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Lahore in 1974, the Lahore General Hospital was affiliated with PGMI in July, 1975. Except the department of Neuro-Surgery, T.B & Chest; these both departments remained attached with KEMC.

In present study prevalence of dengue fever recorded from November, 2011 to May, 2012. Data was collected from nine towns of Lahore. Results showed that total 11,283 dengue cases were reported in different hospitals of nine towns. Highest prevalence 18.3% was recorded in Data GanjBaksh town, whereas in Gulberg and Cant Town was recorded 13.3% and 12.6% respectively. The prevalence in Allama Iqbal and Samanabad towns was found 11.9% in each. The least affected area was Wahga Town, where 1.5% prevalence was recorded. The highest prevalence of dengue fever (DF) with respect to sex was observed in males 89% (1192) in Samanabad town. The DF was more prevalent in females of Shalimar town (35%). The prevalence of DF with respect to age in age group 21 to 30 years was found highest (23.14%) among all age groups.
