I dag gir Yeasayer oss et innblikk i “Amen & Goodbye” sin verden med singelen “I Am Chemistry”, det første sporet vi får høre fra det etterlengtede albumet. Med den legendariske folkesangeren Suzzy Roche fra The Roches med som gjestevokalist, er “I Am Chemistry” som en psykedelisk reise som nok en gang beviser at Yeasayer har en unik evne til å skrive veldig underlige poplåter. Yeasayer har samarbeidet med den berømte skulptøren David Altmejd (en enorm inspirasjonskilde for bandet) som har gjort en visuell tolkning av albumet og designet coveret. I teaserne som ble sluppet i forkant av “I Am Chemistry” kunne man se noen av skulpturene Altmejd lagde ved å lytte til det nye albumet. Dette var som en drøm som kom i oppfyllelse for bandet, og resultatet ble spektakulært. Fullstendig albumdesign vil avsløres på et senere tidspunkt. Se teaserne her:http://www.yeasayer.xyz/ Regissørgruppen New Team Ltd har laget musikkvideoen til “I Am Chemistry”, en sammensmeltning mellom sangen og visjonen til Yeasayer og Altmejd. Den er akkurat så merkelig og fantastisk som man kan forvente seg av en Yeasayer-musikkvideo: en kosmonaut som føder, dansende barnestatuer, et landskap dekket av deformerte monumenter, giftige planter og neonfargede grotter. For å bevege seg bort fra den heldigitale tilnærmingen, spilte Yeasayer inn platen på tape i Outlier Inn Studio i New York før de hentet inn Joey Waronker (trommer i Atoms For Peace / Beck) for å dekonstruere alt og lage sluttproduktet. På “Amen & Goodbye” hører man Yeasayer sin umiskjennelige sound, uten at det høres ut som noe bandet har laget før. The first six months represent major improvements and growth, followed by the sudden public closure and responses to the Covid health crisis. The year began with the renewal of the Rhythm Foundation’s management agreement. Experience and momentum gathered during the first management term were brought to bear and a season of widely diverse cultural offerings was undertaken. Long awaited capital improvements of the canopy covering and new seating system were completed in February. The season was in the middle of the busiest period in mid March when we closed the facility to the public in mid March due to the Covid health crisis. We immediately modified and adapted our operations using live streaming technologies to complete the Rhythm Foundations’s 32nd season. Emergency funding and support from the City, County and Federal government have been critical to sustaining the organization through this prolonged health crisis. We proactively engaged with community partners to identify funding, tech support and best practices for safe operations. Since going virtual in mid-March, we’ve broadcast sixteen (16) full length concerts as live streams to a collective audience of over 100,000 viewers from all over the world. The 20/21 season ahead is anchored by partnerships with the leading cultural presenting organizations in the South Florida, furthering our goal of establishing the North Beach Bandshell as a major performing arts facility in our region.
