Bogor Agricultural University was newly added as one of the host universities from 2011. The event is also an opportunity for interactions with foreign students. The 24th Tri-U IJSS was held in Mie University from October 23rd to 27th, 2017. 114 students and 40 faculty members joined the Seminar & Symposium from 6 countries. Each student gave a presentation of his/her research paper based on the designated theme, any of Population, Food, Energy, Environment, or Children. In addition, they had a workshop that consists of cross-border students groups and cultural exchange events. Students and faculty members in Mie University are going to participate in the 25th Tri-U held in Chiang Mai University, Thailand in 2018. Alumni in Thailand Thai Students’ Association in Japan under the Royal Patronage has a long history of 76 years holding about 1,000 Thai students all over Japan. A graduate student of Mie University, was taking a role of representative for the 72nd to the 74th as the Mie Prefecture’s head. Currently, another Mie University’s student is taking over the role for the 75th head. There are several events all through the year. In April: Awarding Ceremony for the appointment of heads; in May: Thai Festival in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya; in November: Thai-Japan Conference. They actively enhance our friendship between Thai and Japan through cultural events and being a bridge for our strong bond. In addition, Old Japan Students’ Association, Kingdom of Thailand was established in January, 1966, supporting alumni networks and students who wish to study in Japan..
