JET Education Services.Cdr JOB ADVERT Anglo American South Africa (AASA) Education Programme EDUCATION PROGRAMME COORDINATOR: Northern Cape Kumba (Sishen/Kolomela) Anglo American South Africa and Kumba Iron Ore in partnership with the Department of Basic Education have launched the Anglo American South African Education Programme, an initiative of Anglo American's sustainability strategy. This is a holistic approach to education from early childhood learning through to matric, the goal being to improve the educational outcomes of learners in communities local to Sishen/Kolomela in the Northern Cape. As part of this programme, JET Education Services (JET), appointed by Anglo American South Africa, seeks to appoint a dynamic and accomplished high level operational Education Programme Coordinator to join its provincial project team working in the Dithakong and Postmasburg areas of the Northern Cape. Through a number of service providers, the programme will be working in primary and secondary schools as well as Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres. The appointed Programme Coordinator will assist with the programme implementation in the Northern Cape Province in collaboration with the JET Programme Manager and Senior Programme Coordinator. The Programme Coordinator must be resident in either Dithakong/Kuruman, Kathu or Postmasburg. The appointed Programme Coordinator will be offered a fixed term contract and will be required to have the following attributes: Knowledge, experience and skills required Ÿ Bachelor's degree in Education, Community Development or related field Ÿ Knowledge and experience in the education and/or development sectors Ÿ Proven track record of coordinating and supporting large-scale complex interventions and extensive high-level project coordination experience Ÿ Minimum of five years' experience in project coordination, including budget tracking and flawless record keeping Ÿ High-level planning and organisational skills Ÿ High-level communication skills, both written and verbal Ÿ Fluency in English, Afrikaans, Tswana, and Sotho will be an added advantage for the position Ÿ Ability to establish and maintain relationships with project partners, clients and stakeholders at all levels Ÿ Ability to multi-task and work under extreme pressure Ÿ Computer literacy (MS Office package) Ÿ A valid and unendorsed driver's licence. Key Performance Areas The Education Programme Coordinator: Northern Cape Kumba is expected to ensure effective project implementation by: Ÿ Managing and overseeing the delivery of the programme by the Intervention Implementers at participating ECD sites and schools Ÿ Coordinating and managing planning sessions with the various Intervention Implementers at the provincial level Ÿ Arranging, preparing for, attending and reporting into management meetings as required Ÿ Monitoring and reporting progress against agreed programme deliverables and milestones Ÿ Proactively and reactively identifying any hindrances/blockages to programme implementation and recommending appropriate course(s) of action as required Ÿ Engaging in meaningful and relevant stakeholder engagement, including the local community, Department of Education and Department of Social Development, to ensure supported and successful programme implementation Ÿ Coordinating and monitoring the evaluation of project implementation by a team of data collectors Ÿ Ensuring effective communication and flow of information at all levels Ÿ Developing and maintaining relationships at all levels Ÿ Budget tracking and record keeping Must be willing to travel and possess a code 08 driver's licence This position is a 12 months contract (renewable for the remaining three years of the programme depending on performance and funding).     Phase 1 Heritage Impact Assessment of a new borrow pit (BP 12) at Dithakong, located northeast of Kuruman, NC Province. Report prepared by Paleo Field Services PO Box 38806 Langenhovenpark 9330 10 September 2019 Summary At the request of Greenbox Environmental Consultants, a Phase 1 Heritage Impact Assessment was carried out for the proposed development of a new 5 ha borrow pit, designated Borrow Pit 12, near Dithakong in the Northern Cape Province. Located about 12 km north-northeast of Dithakong, the proposed borrow pit covers 5ha of partially degraded terrain as a result of previous borrows pit activities. The site is capped by surface limestone and well-developed red to reddish – brown, Quaternary – aged, Kalahari Group aeolian sand where no fossils or fossil exposures were observed. The proposed development will have no impact in situ Stone Age archaeological material, and there are no indications of prehistoric structures, historically significant buildings older than 60 years, aboveground evidence of graves or rock art within the confines of the footprint area. As far as the archaeological heritage is concerned, the proposed development is considered to be of low archaeological significance and is assigned a site rating of Generally Protected C. Further development may proceed with no further assessments required. 2 Introduction At the request of Greenbox Environmental Consultants, a Phase 1 Heritage Impact Assessment was carried out for the proposed development of a new 5 ha borrow pit, designated Borrow Pit 12, near Dithakong in the Northern Cape Province (Fig. 1). The study is required in terms of Section 38 of the National Heritage Resources Act 25 of 1999 as a prerequisite for any development which will change the character of a linear development exceeding 300 m in length.

In terms of Section 9 (1)(f) of the Housing Act, 1997 (Act No. 107 of 1997) “Every municipality must, as part of the municipality’s process of integrated development planning, take all reasonable and necessary steps within the framework of national and provincial housing legislation and policy to initiate, plan, co-ordinate, facilitate, promote and enable appropriate housing development in its area of jurisdiction”. Municipalities are expected to prepare and adopt Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) as the basis for planning and coordinating service delivery. Within the IDP certain sector plans also need to be prepared, and the Integrated Human Settlements Sector Plan, is one of these. The Integrated Human Settlements Sector Plan is part of the IDP process and stands as a chapter within a municipality’s IDP; it is not a stand-alone plan resulting from a separate planning process. The Integrated Human Settlements Sector Plan aims to provide the strategic direction for transforming human settlements in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District aligned to the Provincial Department. This transformation relate to accelerating human settlement delivery on well-located land, that provide opportunities to beneficiaries to access the property market and have sufficient access to social amenities and economic opportunities. This transformation will further support the integration of communities and the spatial restructuring of the towns and villages in the Municipal area.

Snyman lnstituut vir Geskiedenisnavorsing Raad vir GeesteswetenskaplikeNavorsing Met die anneksasie van die Tswanagebied in 1885 bet die kroonkolonie Brits-Betsjoeanaland suid van die Moloporivier tot stand gekom. Om voldoende voorsiening vir woongebied vir die inheemse bevolking (die Tswana of Wes-Sotho) te maak, bet 'n grondkommissie gedurende 1886 oral in die nuwe kroonkolonie reservate opsygesit wat die onvervreembare eiendom van die Tswana sou bly. In 1895 bet Brits-Betsjoeanaland 'n integrerende deel van die Kaapkolonie geword. Skaars tWee jaar later bet 'n gewapende opstand, bekend as die Langeberg-rebellie in hierdie voormalige kroonkolonie uitgebreek. Na kragdadige optrede deur die Kaapse koloniale regering is die reservatevan die opstandelinge gekonflSkeer,in plase opgemeet en aan Blanke nedersettersuitgegee.
