Outrigger Waikiki and Outrigger Reef Hotels Put a Little Love into Travel with New “It’s All About...Romance” Package

Enjoy the perfect romantic getaway with rooms starting at $329 per night, including a 50-minute lomi lomi massage and spa gift

This year, love reigns supreme at Outrigger Reef on the Beach and Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach where guests can treat themselves and a loved one to a 50-minute Hawaiian lomi lomi massage when they book the hotels’ new “It’s All About…Romance” package. Starting at $329 per night, the package invites travelers to fall head-over-heels for the relaxing beachfront properties and, of course, one another.

“Our It’s All About…Romance package ups the level of passion when getting away to one of the most romantic destinations in the world,” said Patsy Narimatsu, Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef on the Beach’s director of sales and marketing. “After a little pampering at the Serenity Spa at the Outrigger Reef or the Waikiki Plantation Spa at the Outrigger Waikiki, guest can explore all the great nearby restaurants to reconnect over an intimate meal or savor an unforgettable moonlit stroll along the shore.”

Hawaiian lomi lomi massage is a traditional technique that was practiced by ancient Hawaiian healers and is a sacred art that has lived on by being passed down through the generations. Meant to be a connection of the spirit and the body, lomi lomi massage is a unique cultural experience that aims to heal on a physical as well as mental, emotional and spiritual level. At the end of their treatment, guests will also enjoy a small memento of their luxurious experience with a free gift from the Serenity Spa or Waikiki Plantation Spa.

Serenity Spa, an Aveda Concept Spa, is located in the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. This full-service day spa features traditional techniques of healing the body, mind and spirit. Through the use of local plant extracts, flower essences, oils and minerals once used by ancient Hawaiian kahuna (medicinal experts), the spa staff will take guests back to a world of simplicity and relaxation. With massage, facials, waxing, nail services, body treatments and salon services available, guests will instantly reach a state of serenity.

The only penthouse spa in the islands, Waikiki Plantation Spa in Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach treats guests to spectacular views of Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean. Seventeen floors above the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, the two-story Waikiki Plantation Spa offers a full menu of services including massage, facials, nail services, waxing, hydrotherapy, body wraps and scrubs. Guests can also participate in private and semi-private fitness programs on the rooftop and get their heart racing alongside spacious views of the mountains and ocean. The spa also features a signature line of “Island Girl” products made from natural, hydrating native Hawaiian plants such as kukui nut, tamanu nut and macadamia nut so that guests can take a small reminder of their blissful spa experience home.

The “It’s All About…Romance” package starts at $329 per room, per night, for two persons sharing. Additional room nights can be purchased at the respective hotel’s Best Available Rate. Rates and specials cannot be combined with other offers and are subject to availability and change. Additional restrictions may apply. Join Reef Watch Waikīkī

Join Reef Watch Waikīkī to help monitor and identify reef fish in the Waikīkī Marine Life Conservation District. Our "Fish Watch" monitoring program uses a roving survey method developed by the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) that can be conducted with minimal training and basic snorkel gear. You will work in a team to conduct a thirty minute REEF survey to record the different species and number of each fish observed. After being trained, you can conduct a REEF survey anywhere on O'ahu (but we hope you'll help us out in Waikiki once in a while!).

· Feb. 2 (Wednesday), 9:00am-Noon: REEF Fish ID Class followed by an optional Snorkel Survey · Feb. 20 (Sunday), 8:00am-11:00am: REEF Fish ID Class followed by an optional Snorkel Survey · Mar. 2 (Wednesday), 9:00am-Noon: REEF Fish ID Class followed by an optional Snorkel Survey · Mar. 19 (Saturday), 8:00am-11:00am: REEF Fish ID Class followed by an optional Snorkel Survey

REEF FISH ID CLASS: To participate in a REEF survey, you must first attend a reef fish identification training class. The class includes basic coral reef ecology and fish biology, followed by identification tips and specific information about different fish families found in Hawai'i. BRING: Sun protection and a comfy beach chair since we'll be sitting outside on the grass for an extended period.

SNORKEL SURVEYS: Snorkel surveys are open to past participants of our REEF Fish ID classes. Anyone wishing to participate should be a strong swimmer, competent snorkeler, and have his/her own mask, snorkel and fins. Each snorkel survey will last approximately 30-40 minutes and involve identifying, counting and recording fish observed in the Waikiki Marine Life Conservation District. After the snorkel, we’ll gather on the beach to identify any unknown fish and share sightings of cool marine critters.

REGISTER: If you’d like to join us, please RSVP to Heather at [email protected] so we can provide you with additional details in advance of the survey, and so we can notify you if the event is cancelled or postponed on short notice due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
