You’ll have noticed that construction is underway on our exciting new facility, the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. We are extremely grateful to them and the many other community-minded supporters, who have – to date – helped us reach more than 85% of our $75 million goal! And with that goal in sight,we now turn to you for assistance in completing this campaign. All gifts – large and small – make a difference by ensuring that the Globe continues to thrive. You may hear from us in the coming months, and I hope you will respond with an enthusiastic “Yes! I want to help The Old Globe provide great theatre and educations programs now and for future generations!” Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy this performance – and every visit to the Globe! FROM THE NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR MUSICAL THEAtre’s PresideNT Welcome to our 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals! The Festival is one of the highlights of the NAMT year, bringing together 600+ industry professionals for two days of intense focus on new musical theatre works and the remarkably talented writing teams who create them. This year we are particularly excited not only about the quality, but also about the diversity—in theme, style, period, place and people—represented across the eight shows that were selected from over 150 submissions. We’re visiting 17th-century England and early 20th century New York. We’re spending some time in the world of fairy tales—but not in ways you ever have before. We’re visiting Indiana and Georgia and the world of reality TV. Regardless of setting or stage of development, every one of these shows brings something new—something thought-provoking, funny, poignant or uplifting—to the musical theatre field. This Festival is about helping these shows and writers find their futures. Beyond the Festival, NAMT is active year-round in supporting members in their efforts to develop new works. This year’s Songwriters Showcase features excerpts from just a few of the many shows under development (many with collaboration across multiple members!) to salute the amazing, extraordinarily dedicated, innovative work our members do. A final and heartfelt thank you: our sponsors and donors make this Festival, and all of NAMT’s work, possible. We tremendously appreciate your support! Many thanks, too, to the Festival Committee, NAMT staff and all of you, our audience.

LINCOLN CENTER THEATER CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT BEN EDELMAN, ANDREW GARMAN, JESSICA HECHT DANA IVEY, SALLY MURPHY TO BE FEATURED IN LINCOLN CENTER THEATER’S UPCOMING PRODUCTION OF “ADMISSIONS” A NEW PLAY BY JOSHUA HARMON DIRECTED BY DANIEL AUKIN PERFORMANCES BEGIN THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15 OPENING NIGHT IS MONDAY, MARCH 12 AT THE MITZI E. NEWHOUSE THEATER Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop) has announced that Ben Edelman, Andrew Garman, Jessica Hecht, Dana Ivey, and Sally Murphy will be featured in its upcoming production of ADMISSIONS, a new play by Joshua Harmon, directed by Daniel Aukin. ADMISSIONS will begin previews Thursday, February 15 and open on Monday, March 12 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). In ADMISSIONS, Sherri Rosen-Mason (to be played by Jessica Hecht) is head of the admissions department at The Hillcrest School, fighting to diversify the student body. And alongside her husband (Andrew Garman), the school's Headmaster, they've largely succeeded in bringing a stodgy institution into the twenty-first century. But when their only son (Ben Edelman) sets his sights on an Ivy League university, personal ambition collides with progressive values, with convulsive results. ADMISSIONS is a new play that explodes the ideals and contradictions of liberal white America. ADMISSIONS will have sets by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by Toni-Leslie James, lighting by Mark Barton, and sound by Ryan Rumery. Joshua Harmon's play Bad Jews received its world premiere at Roundabout Underground, transferred to the Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre, and has since become one of the most produced plays in the United States.
