BRANSON ON THE ROAD® P.O. Box 921 Branson, Missouri 65615 Toll Free: 800-516-2373 Direct: 417-527-1849 [email protected] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BRANSON SHOW SALUTES AMERICA America’s Favorite Road Show – Branson On The Road – returns to the ______________________________ with the all-new “Salute to America” show honoring our history, heroes and home. Named by the Branson Chamber of Commerce as their official traveling ambassadors, Branson On The Road has over 20 years of experience of performing at the top theatres in Branson on the famous 76 Country Music Boulevard (known as "The Strip"), and is the only national touring show named for the famous city. The show delivers the Branson traditions of good, clean, family fun wherever they go...and they go all over the US and beyond! Ross Summers, President of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce said, “We are proud to have Branson On The Road® as a traveling ambassador for Branson. We encourage you to attend or bring a group to a wonderful Branson On The Road® concert in your area”. “Salute to America” is a musical celebration of songs about our countries History, Heroes and Home. The show begins with the founding of the nation and then musically moves through some of our great cities and towns with songs like “Abilene”, “Detroit City” and “Route 66”. “We honor our nation and the people who built it”, said show producer and performer, Debbie Horton. “You’re going to know nearly all of the songs we sing and be surprised too!” “Branson On The Road – Salute to America” will go on to talk about the strength of the USA and honor our veterans and military families who have given so much. The “Ragged Old Flag” begins a section of the show that looks back on a slower, nostalgic time in our nation. And let’s not forget about the comedy...Donnie Wright is the antagonizer and musical virtuoso on the stage. When “Cowboy Time” begins on the first half of the show everyone is invited to help him get through the songs of the old west. This is not to be missed. To round up this wonderful show, the group will get together for a rousing version of “I’ve Been Everywhere” done like no one has ever performed before! “That piece took us over 8 months to put together”, said Brian Capps, upright bass player and singer. “There are a couple of hundred towns mentioned in that song…I know I have been to all of them myself”. Branson On The Road – Salute to America is the kind of show most people thought was long gone in this day of overproduced music, overused special effects and performers singing to tracks. In the same tradition as the traveling road shows during the glory days of the Grand Ole Opry, the Louisiana Hayride and the first Branson music shows, Branson On The Road® keeps you tapping, laughing and smiling. Debbie Horton holds the distinction of being the only woman to have played lead guitar for the great Johnny Cash. She hosted her own show at the old Boxcar Willie Theater in Branson and has performed on the famous Louisiana Hayride and Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree in Nashville. She was a radio DJ in Norfolk, Virginia and acted as MC for concerts with Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams, Jr., the Oak Ridge Boys, and many more. Among her other credits, Debbie is an accomplished songwriter. She has had her songs recorded by Wanda Jackson, Norma Jean and many other country singers. Donnie Wright is an expert, sought after, respected musician, arranger and is versatile on many instruments including fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass and has been part of the Branson music scene for 40 years. He provides a good deal of the comic relief on the show with his mischievous antics. Among his long list of credits are performances at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, The Presley's Show in Branson, The Pine Mountain Jamboree in Eureka Springs, and a long-standing run at The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. Donnie has been nominated for a Lifetime Honors Award for his contribution to music in the Ozarks by the National Endowments of the Arts in Washington, DC. Brian Capps plays upright bass and sings songs reminiscent of Marty Robbins and Hank Williams. Brian's latest recording reached the Top 10 on the Americana Charts and is part of the music rotation on XM Radio. Branson On The Road® is a regular featured act on the national television show, "Midwest Country" on the RFD-TV network seen in over 100 million homes. Visit www.BransonOnTheRoad.com to learn more! .
