Jaguart - the Italian Talent Road Show
Press release | Torino, 25 June 2021 JaguArt - The Italian Talent Road Show Starting in June, the Italian Talent Road Show resumes with an intense calendar of events. The winners will present their research in the hosting galleries of each city, establishing a dialogue in a group show on tour in Italy that will conclude at Artissima, after the announcement of the winner. Artissima – International Fair of Contemporary Art and Jaguar are back at centre stage with the restart of JaguArt - The Italian Talent Road Show, the voyage in pursuit of young talents that began in 2019 thanks to the dialogue between Artissima and Jaguar Land Rover, based on a shared desire to support emerging art and to trigger fertile long-term synergies of collaboration. 10 Italian cities, 10 Jaguar dealerships, 10 contemporary art galleries, 10 fine arts academies, 10 artists are the protagonists of this travel around Italy that continues to present new initiatives to support the selected emerging artists. JaguArt will culminate with the announcement of the absolute winner during the course of the 28th edition of Artissima (5-7 November 2021), the final stop of this voyage that began with the selection of 10 artists, one for each stop, and the activation of a programme of special encounters in the hosting galleries and Jaguar dealerships all over Italy. The 10 winners and finalists of JaguArt are: Matteo Pizzolante, winner of the first appointment in Milan, Luca Arboccò – Turin, Francesco Tagliavia – Catania, Camilla Gurgone – Rome, Boris Contarin – Venice, Stefano Giuri – Florence, Marco-Augusto Basso – Genoa, Teresa Gargiulo – Naples, Camilla Riscassi – Bologna, and Federica Francesconi – Brescia. -

WOPART – Works on paper art fair Centro Esposizioni Lugano Via Campo Marzio 6900 Lugano, Switzerland Preview: September 19, 12:00 – 21:00 Stand A 10 Public days: September 20 – 22, 11:00 – 19:00 Robilant+Voena are pleased to present works by Hsiao Chin and Minjung Kim at WOPART 2019. Hsiao Chin was born in Shangai in 1935. He is a Chinese painter known for his lyrical abstractions, which employ both the vocabulary of traditional Chinese brush painting and the conceptual framework of European and American Modernism. After participating in the foundation of the group of abstract painters "Ton Fan" in 1956, in that same year he arrived in Europe, staying in Madrid and Barcelona, where he held his first solo show in 1957. At the end of the fifties he settled in Milan, where in 1961 he participated in the "Punto" movement, along with other eXponents of the neo-avant-garde international art such as Kengiro Azuma, Antonio Calderara, Dadamaino, Henk Peeters. In the 1960s Hsiao Chin spent long periods working in London, Paris, and New York. Today he lives and works in Taiwan as well as in Milan, where he settled in 1971, teaching at the European Institute of Design and then at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Hsiao Chin has had a great influence on the development of abstract painting in China and his works can be found in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Shanghai Art Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to name but a few. -

Light Art Ensemble 12 ‐ 13 ‐ 14 December, 2014 Light Art Artists and Curators Meet at former San Carporofo Church in Milan The event, curated by Gisella Gellini and Domenico Nicolamarino, will pay homage to Marinellia Pirelli, a Light's artist Light Art Ensemble 2014 Light Art as feature that interacts with architecture and urban landscape, for creating new visual atmospheres, for allowing new ways of enjoying either an outdoor or an indoor space of a city, for conveying cultural messages and contents. That's, in short, the concept of Light Art Ensemble, an occasion for confrontation and debate among Art and Culture experts with a group or artists that will embody that concept in their works. The latter will be set up from 12 to 14 of December in the evocative location of the former San Carpoforo church in Via Formentini, in the hearth of the Brera neighbour, within short distance from the Brera Fine Arts Academy and Pinacoteca (Art Gallery). The event will pay homage to Marinellia Pirelli, the great pioneer artist of Light Art who left us in 2009. For the event a number of her Meteore will be exhibited. San Carpoforo is a deconsecrated church of which the first information date back to the 831 year, albeit of the ancient building there is nothing left since it was rebuilt from scratch in the XVII century, after many refurbishments. Belonging to the Milan's Municipality, from 1993 is at free disposal of the Brera Academy for its courses, but it can also be rented as location for high level cultural or trade events. -

Time: 6:00pm- 8:30pm Final day: Sunday, March 5, 2017. BEDLAM AND BALANCE The inaugural group exhibition of ArtYard, featuring eight artists from four continents. Anila Rubiku, Carly Butler, Elsa Mora, Hoda Zarbaf, Hyang Cho, Magdalena Campos-Pons, Regina José Galindo and Vessna Perunovich. Curated by Magda Gonzales-Mora. Bedlam and Balance draws attention to the struggles of individuals to find their own balance, rebuild after the earth has shifted, or forge a new path through uncertain terrain. Eight female artists examine existential and autobiographical elements, drawing from disparate origins in Albania, Canada, Cuba, Iran, Korea, Guatemala and Serbia. In the wake of a surreal election and in an era when the diasporas of far flung continents are both accessible and remote, Bedlam and Balance offers visions of fear and displacement, refuge and restoration. The drawings, installations, objects, poems, sculptures and videos in this exhibition weave together personal and collective narratives that revisit the past, scavenge the present and suggest shrewd, hopeful and vulnerable approaches to the road ahead. ARTISTS Anila Rubiku is an Albanian-born Italian artist who studied at the Tirana Academy of Arts (1994) and did her postgraduate work in Milan at the Brera Academy (2000). At present she works between Milan, Tirana and Toronto. Rubiku’s work is intimately connected to social and political issues. She creates drawings and sophisticated installations that involve contemporary approaches to traditional crafts such as embroidery. Rubiku is drawn to examining and representing the accretion of emotionally complex layers that comprise our identities as social creatures. -

Piero Fornasetti One Hundred Years on show from 9th May to 15th June 2014 Monday to Sunday 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. at 10 Corso Como Seoul 3F Piero Fornasetti Piero Fornasetti was a Milanese painter, sculptor, interior decorator, engraver of books and a creator of more than 13,000 products. In terms of variety of decoration, Fornasetti’s production of objects and furniture is one of the largest of the 20th century. Fornasetti is celebrated as being among the most original creative talents of the twentieth century. During his career he created a visual vocabulary that is instantly recognizable and unceasingly engaging. Fornasetti designed a magical world, saturated in image and colour and filled with whimsy and wit. Biography • 1913 Piero Fornasetti is born in Milan, Italy. • 1930 Piero entered Brera Academy to study drawing. • 1932 Expelled from Brera for insubordination. • 1933 First artwork shown as part of a student exhibition at Milano University. Also this year, a series of scarves in printed silk was proposed to the Milan Triennale but was rejected. It was during this occasion that Piero’s work was noted by Gio Ponti. • 1935 At the sixth Triennale in Milan, Piero exhibited, among other things, a decorative bronze and ceramic frieze in an archaic style. • 1940 Piero met Gio Ponti and went on to design ‘The Lunar’ illustrated Calendar book for him. • 1942 Created frescoes for the Palazzo Bo in Padova. • 1943-1946 Went into exile in Switzerland. • 1947 Exhibited a series of motifs for ceramics at the Triennale (commissioned again by Gio Ponti). -

ACCADEMIA DI BELLE ARTI DI BRERA Via Brera, 28 - 20121 Milano www.accademiadibrera.milano.it INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL ISOLA COMACINA ARTISTS’ RESIDENCY 2019 Brera Academy of Fine Arts, together with Fondazione Isola Comacina and the Municipality of Tremezzina, organizes an international artists’ residency program on Comacina Island. The residency will be held in the iconic Artists House designed in the1940’s by the Italian rationalist architect Pietro Lingeri. Residency purposes - To offer artists a space for working, researching, and practicing; - To encourage cultural exchanges, bringing together artists from different backgrounds, and offer opportunities for meetings and cultural exchanges; - To facilitate relationship building among artists in residency, local communities, and tourists, establishing connections beyond the purpose of the residency. How to participate The call is open to Italian and foreign artist (18 years and more), working in the field of visual arts, with no restriction on languages, media, or techniques used. To participate, each candidate must submit: - The participation to the call is completely free; - The Application Form duly completed and signed (Annex A); - A photocopy of a valid identity document; - The artistic CV, including any link to the artist's personal presentation page, and/or printed materials, photographs, catalogues, video, CD/DVD, etc; - A summary of the residency project proposal (consistent with the island context). Applications must be received by 12:00 hours of Friday April 26th 2019. Chapter 2 Review of Literature
CHAPTER 2 REVIEW OF LITERATURE The second chapter of the present study is on the "Review of Literature". It is divided into three sections namely, theoretical review, technical review and research review. This chapter begins with an overview of how this chapter has been organized, followed by literature reviews. This chapter focuses on what has been done so far and how it is related to the present study being conducted. This chapter has an inventory of the review of literature pertaining to the shawls' history in India and its preservation and conservation practices in museums and private organizations. The research has been formulated with the key endeavour to conserve these precious momentoes for future generations to come and to implement its conservation methods. Fundamental information about fibers and structures that affect the long-term stability of textiles have been provided in the theoretical review. Both internal and external agents of deterioration have been described in the technical review. A wide range of preventive conservation strategies specifically related to shawls has been explored. Basic conservation interventions have been presented, demonstrated and issues in ethical decision making have been addressed in this chapter. These have been covered under the following heads: 2.1 Theoretical Review 2.1.1 Historical background about shawls 2.1.2 Fundamental information about woollen fibers 2.1.3 Agents of deterioration and its preventive conservation 2.1.4 Remedial conservation processes 2.2 Research Review 2.1.1 Historical background about shawls The review of literature is an important step in understanding the researches in India.
