‘LIES BETWEEN FRIENDS’ PRODUCTION BIOS JOE LAWLOR (Executive Producer) – Joe Lawlor has executive-produced eight two-hour movies for television. Lawlor’s most recent movies have been produced with Insight Film Studios for Lifetime Television and include “My Neighbor’s Keeper,” directed by Walter Klenhard. Some of the notable movies from this group are the musical romance, “Love Notes,” with Laura Leighton, the paranormal thriller “Nightmare at the End of the Hall,” with Sara Rue and the political thriller “Judicial Indiscretion,” with Anne Archer. Prior to executive-producing the Lifetime slate, Lawlor was executive creative consultant on another eleven movies from Insight Film. Along with “To Have and To Hold,” a script Lawlor co-wrote, these movies include audience favorites such as “Holiday Wishes” and “Under the Mistletoe,” both currently on Lifetime’s top five for “Pick-a-Flick Friday.” Before executive-producing movies for television, Lawlor was vice-president of movies and miniseries for Hearst Entertainment Productions. There, Lawlor oversaw the sale, development and production of numerous television movies to Lifetime and the major networks and worked with many award-winning writers, directors and producers, including Will Scheffer (“Big Love”) and Wendy Wasserstein (“The Heidi Chronicles”). Several of the movies Lawlor helped develop received nominations for Writers Guild of America Awards for best original teleplay and best adapted teleplay. Lawlor also teamed with Cheyenne Entertainment to sell and develop Hearst’s first project with TNT. Prior to Hearst Entertainment, Lawlor was director of development for Brayton-Carlucci Productions and associate producer of the company’s movies for Lifetime and CBS. Lawlor’s first job in television movies was with Grossbart-Barnett Productions, where he was manager of development on many of their successful and respected productions for major networks. Lawlor is a graduate of San Diego State University with degrees in television and film and creative writing. # # # LAURIE GOLDSTEIN (Executive Producer) – Award-winning executive producer Laurie Goldstein has an extensive entertainment background. In addition to producing movies under her Nightstar Productions banner, she has held executive positions at a variety of entertainment companies including NBC, Universal, HBO and Saban Entertainment. Goldstein has produced movies for VH1, USA Network, TBS, CBS and Lifetime. Goldstein received the 2006 Prism Award for “Augusta, Gone,” an original movie on the Lifetime (more) HALLMARK CHANNEL/ ‘LIES BETWEEN FRIENDS’ – Production Bios – Page 2 Network starring Mika Boorem, Sharon Lawrence and Tim Matheson. Previously she received the Robert Woods Johnson Peabody Award for “Sharing the Secret,” featuring Alison Lohman, which aired on CBS. Additional credits include “Disappearance,” “Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story” and “Evolution's Child.” Prior to producing, Goldstein headed the in-house movie divisions at NBC, The Landsburg Company and Saban Entertainment, all of which resulted in her shepherding over 35 movies and miniseries into production. Goldstein’s first stint in Los Angeles was at Universal Television, where she worked closely with legendary writer/producer William Link. Her responsibilities included development on the ABC Mystery Movie Wheel, which included “Columbo,” “Gideon Oliver,” “BL Stryker” and the development of various series. Goldstein started her entertainment career in New York where she had a six-year tenure at HBO. She began as the Director of HBO’s east coast public relations division, which eventually led to her becoming a director in the HBO Original Programming Department. She was born in Peoria, Illinois and graduated from the University of Wisconsin/Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts. In addition to producing, Goldstein consults with both film and television writers in all aspects of the process from pitch development and selling through script execution. # # # HARVEY KAHN (Producer) - Harvey Kahn has produced numerous independent features and television movies since the late 1980s. In 1998, he founded Front Street Pictures in Santa Monica, CA, and opened the Vancouver office four years later. The company produces a diverse mix of independent films and movies-of-the-week for worldwide distribution, as well as providing a full range of production services. Kahn and Front Street have produced a number of critically acclaimed features and more than 40 TV movies with and for most of the US studios and networks, including the award-winning and highly rated “Little Girl Lost” for the Lifetime Movie Network (2008); “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” (2008) and “Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle” (2009) for Hallmark Channel. Among the many independent features he’s produced is the critically acclaimed “We Don’t Live Here Anymore” (Warner), starring Naomi Watts and Mark Ruffalo, which was a competition selection at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival; “The Deal” (Sony), starring Christian Slater and Selma Blair, which he also directed, and had its premiere at the 2005 AFI Film Festival; “Nobody’s Baby” (Artisan) starring Gary Oldman and Mary Steenburgen, which premiered at Sundance; “The Proposal” (Miramax) starring Jennifer Esposito and Stephen Lang; and “Water’s Edge” (Lionsgate), which he also directed. Before entering the film/TV industry, he worked on political and social issue campaigns in California and Washington, DC. He also worked in investigative journalism. # # # WALTER KLENHARD (Director/Writer) – Director Walter Klenhard has written or directed more than 25 films, spread amongst most of the major broadcast and cable networks. Most recently, he wrote "Murder 101: New Age Murder" staring Dick Van Dyke, for the Hallmark Channel. Previously, he directed the first "Mystery Woman" movie starring Kellie Martin. Klenhard’s other writing and directing credits include “Disappearance,” “Rush of Fear,” “The Haunting of Seacliff Inn” and “Baby Monitor: Sound of Fear,” all for television. He has also written “Murder on Pleasant Drive,” “Logan’s War: Bound by Honor” and “Buried Alive II.” Prior to writing, directing and producing, Klenhard began his career as an actor, appearing in films like "Midway" and "Tom Horn," starring Steve McQueen.
