GENEVA, — Eight days after earning USHL Player of the Year and Forward of the Year awards, the Clark Cup Champion Steel were honored with four players selected to the 2021 All-USHL First and Second teams, the league announced Tuesday.

Forwards Matt Coronato and Sean Farrell and defenseman Ryan Ufko were named to the All- USHL First Team while forward Josh Doan was selected to the All-USHL Second Team.

“We’re very proud to have four players selected to the All-USHL teams,” said Steel General Manager Ryan Hardy. “These players were all dominant throughout the season and are most deserving of this recognition.”

The Steel have had at least one player selected to the All-USHL First Team in the last four seasons dating back to the 2017-2018 campaign, the longest active streak in the USHL.

Coronato was named USHL Forward of the Year on June 7, following his league-leading 48- season in addition to 37 helpers over 51 games played, ranking second in the league in points. The Harvard University commit led all skaters in the 2021 Clark Cup Playoffs, recording 13 points (9G, 4A) in the Chicago championship run. Coronato, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward was ranked ninth among North American skaters eligible for the 2021 NHL Draft on NHL Central Scouting’s most recent watch list released on May 27.

Farrell, a Montreal Canadiens prospect and 2021 USHL Player of the Year, led the league with 101 points (29G, 72A) in 53 games during the 2020-2021 regular season, becoming just the second player in USHL history to eclipse the 100-point plateau in a singles season. The Hopkinton, Mass., native owns the single-season record for assists in the USHL with 72, in addition to the franchise records for career points (157) and assists (113) as well as single-season points (101) and assists (72). Farrell is committed to Harvard University.

Ufko produced the third most points among defenseman in the USHL this season with 39 (10G, 29A) in 53 games. The UMass-Amherst-bound skater is the eighth Steel blueliner in franchise history to reach double-digits in goals for a single season. Ufko, a 5-foot-10, 178-pound, right- shot defenseman was listed as the 43rd overall North American skater on NHL Central Scouting’s list.

Coronato, Farrell and Ufko join eight other Steel Alumni as All-USHL First Team selections (Brendan Brisson, Owen Power – 2020; Nick Abruzzese – 2019; Jack Dugan, Graham Lillibridge – 2018; Andrew Miller, John Moore – 2009; Danny Richmond – 2002).

Doan, an Arizona State University commit, finished the 2020-2021 regular season ranked third in the league in points with 70 (31G, 39A) in 53 games played. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native recorded three hat tricks including a four-goal game on April 23, just the second four-goal game

in Steel franchise history. Doan was named USHL Forward of the Week twice during the 2020- 2021 campaign. He is expected to be targeted in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Doan is the third member of the Chicago Steel to earn All-USHL Second Team honors (Mathieu De St. Phalle – 2020; Matteo Pietroniro – 2019).
