PREVIEW MEN'S TEAM NORMAL HILL / 4 X 5KM – Saturday 2 Mar 2019 • Germany won the gold medal in this event at each of the last two world championships, in 2015 in Falun and in 2017 in Lahti. • No country has won this event more than twice at world championships. Germany's two world titles in this event have them tied with Norway and Austria. • Norway have won eight medals in this event at world championships (G2- S5-B1). Norway is also the only country that has finished in the top three at each of the past four world championships. • Japan is the only non-European country to have won a gold medal in this event at world championships. Japan managed that feat in 1995 and 2009. • Germany's Johannes Rydzek and Eric Frenzel and Norway's Jørgen Graabak are trying to join five others in winning a record four medals in this event at world championships. • Frenzel has already claimed two world titles at these world championships, in the Gundersen large hill/10km and in the team sprint. He can become the third man to win at least three gold medals at one edition, after Rydzek (4 in 2017) and Jason Lamy Chappuis (3 in 2013). • Frenzel has won a record seven career gold medals at the world championships, one more than Rydzek (6). • Jarl Magnus Riiber won the Gundersen normal hill/10km event at these world championships. The only Norwegians to claim multiple world titles at one edition are Bjarte Engen Vik (2 in 1999, 2 in 2001) and Trond Einar Elden (2 in 1989).
