Salary and Benefits

Nasdaken International English Training Center (NIE) was founded in Yancheng in 2009, and then quickly expanded to Xuzhou. Now we have five centers in Yancheng and Xuzhou. About Our Curricula
NIE provides a pre-written and well structured curricula, so class preparation is simple and easy. Our teachers are always allowed to be creative and develop the lessons how they want them to be according to their students.
All of our students are obligated to preview their lessons through Multimedia Courses and students books before they attend classes. This is to enable the efficiency in class and help the teachers to really concentrate on what our students have learned in the respects of vocabulary, grammar as well as listening and speaking. Besides, we also have various Extra Curricula Activities which require for teachers' creativity, cultural awareness and interests. ECA could be anything from table manners to holiday celebrations. Not only it is a rewarding experience but it is also entertaining.
About our students and ESL teachers
NIE has a wide range of students, from 8 years old to professional adults. The major age group is comprised of students from 8 to 14 years old. This is ideal for most teachers because you can always work with your favorite age group. Since we only get students who are serious and ready to learn, you do not have to deal with disciplinary issues in class. The regular classes are usually from 1 to 16 motivated students.
Our ESL teaching team is of 18 foreign teachers (both full time and part time) from the English-speaking countries all over the world, and the team is growing all the time. There is also a close-knit, friendly and welcoming expats community in both Yancheng and Xuzhou. How is the city Yancheng like?
Yancheng-盐城 is a rising and emerging coastal city of Jiangsu province. With a total population of 8 millions and an area of 17,000 square kilometers, Yancheng is the largest city of Jiangsu Province in area and the second in population, and has 11 county-level cities under its jurisdiction.
The city is very beautiful and has undergone much development in the past few years. Both inner and external transportation system are very convenient and affordable here in Yancheng. Traveling by bus to nearby cities like Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou etc. costs around 120 RMB (about 20 USD) each way.
Global brands such as Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Apple, H&M, IMAX and McDonalds etc. can be found throughout the city. At night city streets and buildings light up, which makes our city particularly sparkling. Yancheng is also home to some beautiful (and endangered) wildlife such as the red-crowned crane and Père David's deer. With a good balance of development of economics and conservation of nature, Yancheng is awarded as the National Garden City.
How is the city Xuzhou like?
Xuzhou-徐州 is the biggest city in the Northern part of Jiangsu, located to the north of Shanghai. It covers an area of 11,258 square kilometers with the total population of more than 8 million. The original name of Xuzhou is “Pengcheng”, with 6000 years of splendid culture. Because it is one of China’s best showcases for the arts, archaeology and history of the Han Dynasty, Xuzhou gets the nickname “Eastern Athens”.
Xuzhou is historically called the cross-road of five provinces. It now has a complete transportation system of air, rail, highways and waterways which brings great convenience to travelers and business people. As a beautiful city with a long history, Xuzhou embraces many historical sites and places of interest, highlights include Tombs of Han Dynasty, Yulong Scenic Spot and Han Dynasty Terracotta Warriors. The weather is quite nice. Four seasons are distinctive here. The average temperature year round is 14℃.
How much is the Living cost?
The cost of living is very affordable both in Yancheng and Xuzhou. According to ESL teachers’ experience, 3000 RMB (about 441 USD) is more than enough to cover all food costs per month. Utilities are about 500 RMB (about 80 USD) per month. Our teachers’ monthly salary compared to the cost of living is quite generous and competitive.
How is the transportation like?
Both Yancheng and Xuzhou are a great places to live and travel from as everywhere in China is accessible via our bus and train stations or our airport. 20 domestic and overseas flight course lines have been opened including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu etc. There are 322 kilometers of expressway, which makes it possible to connect each county with expressway. Upon arriving to Yancheng I was welcomed with open arms by the staff. Everyone was very accommodating and seemed genuinely concerned with making me feel at home as quickly as possible. The first day I entered the school, I was taken aback. The glass classrooms in the school create a welcoming and open atmosphere. Over the next few days I was trained to be part of the team. Management took the time to put me in a position to succeed. After training, I was still a bit nervous but it was made clear to me that Nasdaken was confident in my ability. Coming to work at Nasdaken has been a great experience. I get to work with kids who are excited to learn. I’ve made tons of friends, some of which I can call family. Taking the leap and deciding to move to China to teach English is an exciting and yet a somewhat decision. You cannot in any way anticipate what you are going to face when you get off the plane. I could not be more happy to have chosen a smaller city such as Yancheng. Although not well known or as cosmopolitan as the larger cities. It has it's own charm and character. The cost of living is low, the people are warm and welcoming and the pace of life is calm and peaceful. You are always greeted with a smile and enthusiasm wherever you go. Public transport is cheap and efficient. The air is clean and as a rapidly growing city more and more well known western shops and restaurants are opening up all the time. Over and above the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the city and the wonder of living in China. I could not have chosen a better school to work for. Nasdaken has a reputation of being the best private training school in Yancheng and for good reason. The school is modern and well equipped. You are fully supported by all the staff everyday who are friendly and want to help you all the time. As it is a private training college you gain a great amount of experience through teaching of all ages from primary school to adult. The classes are small and the curriculum and materials you are supplied with are exceptional. The school arranges staff dinners and activities to create a great working atmosphere. There is also ample opportunity to make even more money over and above your already very generous salary.
