Winter Olympics Code Breaker Amazing Winter Olympic Stories • In the 1988 Winter Olympics, Jamaica entered its first team in the bobsleigh, which was amazing as they had to practise without snow in Jamaica! It was such a great story that it inspired the 1993 film ‘Cool Runnings’. • From 1929 until 1988, Team GB had no ski jumpers; that was until Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards came along in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada. He came last but was a British ski jump record holder, going on to become a TV personality and stunt skier. In 2016, the film ‘Eddie the Eagle’ was released telling his story. • Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are two of Team GB’s most famous Winter Olympic stars, having won the gold medal in 1984 with their ‘Bolero’ ice dance. They were world champions three times, British Champions seven times and both have MBEs. They now underpin the TV show ‘Dancing on Ice’. Just like your routines, our blades have to be millimeter perfect. A meticulous 55-step process is then undertaken to ensure a robust, flexible, competitive blade that’s made to go the distance. And finally, our master craftsmen apply their expertise for the ultimate finish. BLADE SELECTOR FREESTYLE & PAIRS GALAXY BIGGER JUMPS GOOD FLIGHT PROFESSIONAL BETTER SPINS BEST BIGGER PHANTOM JUMPS BETTER GOLD STAR SPINS DANCE & SYNCHRO MK DANCE DYNASTY FLIGHT FIRST CLASS FOR BEGINNERS. The MK Flight was released in 2015 to meet the specific needs of the entry level skater. As skaters’ needs developed and changed over the years, the team at MK set out to create a blade that satisfied the elementary market. Unlike our beginner blades of the past, the Flight’s profile has been flattened to perfectly suit boot/blade combination sets. The Flight is also the lightest blade of its kind in the world! All of which gives beginners the ‘edge’ as they set off on their journey to push boundaries. Made of 1075 Carbon steel, no blade has this quality for the price. SKILL LEVEL RECREATIONAL AND SINGLE JUMPS 1 GALAXY NO LIMITS TO YOUR PROGRESSION. The latest offering in the MK product range, the new MK Galaxy features an unmatched chrome finish and cross-cut teeth. While skaters leave their boot/blade combination sets for the first time, the Galaxy is an option which provides optimum bite for those learning their toe jumps.
