La Música De Queen Segueix En Forma Cultura i Mitjans | Redacció | Actualitzat el 25/05/2016 a les 07:30 La música de Queen segueix en forma Crònica del concert d'aquest 22 de maig al Palau Sant Jordi de Barcelona de la mítica banda, ara amb la veu d'Adam Lambert en substitució de Freddie Mercury Adam Lambert i Brian May, en un concert del nou Queen | Wikicommons La banda formada pels dos membres de Queen Brian May i Roger Taylor i el cantant Adam Lambert (Queen+Adam Lambert (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_%2B_Adam_Lambert) ) ha visitat aquest diumenge el Palau Sant Jordi de Barcelona per oferir el segon concert de la seva gira d'estiu (http://www.queenonline.com/en/the-band/live/queen-adam-lambert/2016/) per diversos països europeus i que va començar divendres 20 de maig a Lisboa, al Rock in Rio que es va celebrar a la capital portuguesa. Després d'algunes gires i concerts amb veus com les d'Elton John o Paul Rodgers, May i Taylor han tornat a Barcelona, aquest cop amb Adam Lambert, cantant que van conèixer quan participava al programa American Idol l'any 2009. I han respost el que els incondicionals de Queen es preguntaven des de feia anys: com es pot viure un espectacle de Queen sense l'ànima del grup, Freddie Mercury? Aquest diumenge al Sant Jordi, Taylor, May i Lambert van demostrar, veient les reaccions del públic, que un concert així es pot viure com com un homenatge a Freddie Mercury fent allò que saben fer i com ho saben fer. Amb unes primeres notes de la banda sonora de Flash Gordon i una cançó del mateix disc, The Herohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK6A1iGyRgs ( ) , es va obrir el concert, que duraria pràcticament dues hores, mentre el Barça s'enduia la Copa del Rei contra el Sevilla. https://www.naciodigital.cat/noticia/109040/musica-queen-segueix-forma Pagina 1 de 4 Rock que segueix en forma L'espectacle va seguir amb algunes cançons més rockeres: Hammer to fall, Seven Seas of Rhye i Stone Cold Crazy, per canviar de registre a Fat Bottomed Girls i Play The Game, mentre els espectadors de pista saltaven i cantaven amb Lambert. Una butaca a mode de tron va ser l'escenari on Adam Lambert va cantar-hi Killer Queen, abans d'arribar a un clàssic de clàssics: I want to break free seguit per Somebody to love. Va seguir Brian May per cantar Love of my life (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUJkCXE4sAA) amb sorpresa final: Freddie Mercury a les pantalles gegants per cantar els darrers versos. Ovació abans que Roger Taylor cantés These are the days of our lives mentre a les pantalles gegants s'hi podien veure imatges del Queen original, amb Mercury i Deacon, i tots molt més joves. El mateix Taylor després prosseguí amb Drum Battle, una sèrie de demostracions de bateria entre ell i el seu fill Rufus Tiger Taylor. Semblava que les cançons no s'acabaven, i és que el repertori de Queen podria no acabar-se mai: Under Pressure, Crazy Little Thing Called Love i, de nou, un altre clàssic dels que tothom coneix, Don't Stop Me Now. Another One Bites the Dust va permetre el lluïment del baixista que els acompanyava, que no era John Deacon, retirat des de la defunció de Freddie Mercury i amb cap intenció de tornar als escenaris. I Want It All va tornar la potència a l'escenari abans d'entrar amb Who Wants To Live Forever i els solos de Brian May: Last Horizon i el Guitar Solo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPhir2Wgdok) , que van deixar escoltar el so de la guitarra Red Special, construïda pel mateix Brian May. Recta final amb grans "hits" Entrada la recta final del concert, Tie Your Mother Down va animar l'ambient i la seguí The Show Must Go On i dos dels clàssics que no podrien faltar: primer Bohemian Rhapsody, amb part de la cançó com a videoclip a les pantalles i Radio Ga Ga, cantada entre Lambert i el públic. Una retirada ràpida per prosseguir amb uns bisos que tancarien el concert i que a aquestes alçades tothom sabia quines cançons havien de dur: els dos hits principals We Will Rock You i We Are The Champions. La darrera ovació se la van endur mentre sonava, enregistrada, la versió del grup de God Save the Queen. El concert va deixar en general un sentiment de satisfacció entre els que hi varen assistir: Adam Lambert està molt més a l'alçada que els qui han intentat ocupar l'espai deixat per Freddie Mercury i a més, és conscient que no se'l pot substituir. Així, es va posar el públic a la butxaca quan va afirmar que de Freddie només n'hi podia haver un. "Ever". Per part seva, Brian May i Roger Taylor s'enduen una part important de protagonisme, tot i que encara queda el buit deixat pel baixista, John Deacon. Un espectacle, doncs, que no és de Queen, sinó de Queen+Adam Lambert. Alguns incondicionals critiquen que es segueixi utilitzant el nom de Queen, però tothom és conscient a hores d'ara que les ocasions per veure Queen en directe es van esgotar fa molts anys i que si volen seguir gaudint de la seva música, la millor opció que tenen és l'encert de May i Taylor per trobar un cantant que els pugui acompanyar. I sembla que ara l'han encertat. The band began its formation in 1967, when the guitarist Brian May and the drummer Roger Taylor joined with Tim Staffell to form a rock group named Smile. When Tim Staffell left the group, May and Taylor joined forces with Freddie Mercury and a bass player named John Deacon, resulting in the core version of the band in 1970. Queen was famous for bright, glam, “pomp-rock” and put on energetic shows. Freddie Mercury in particular was known for his flamboyant style. Their sound was a very produced and incorporated elements of glam rock, heavy metal, hard rock, and harmony.
