100 Depuis Quelques Semaines, Mais La Journée Du 16 Mai 2010 a Jeté Un Voile Sombre Sur Le Mode Du Métal En Général
2/28 EDITO Bien que très pris par le temps, entre mes occupations familiales, obligations professionnelles et même sportives, j’avais déjà pris le temps de réfléchir à l’édito de ce numéro 100 depuis quelques semaines, mais la journée du 16 mai 2010 a jeté un voile sombre sur le mode du métal en général. En effet, Ronnie James Dio, l’un des plus grands chanteurs de métal de tous les temps, s’est éteint des suites d’un cancer de l’estomac. L’annulation récente de la tournée européenne d’Heaven & Hell prévue cette année, n’augurait rien de bon, mais tout le monde espérait revoir le petit lutin sur les planches rapidement. La maladie en a décidé autrement et c’est une grande tristesse qui s’est abattue sur tous les fans du chanteur et d’ailleurs les hommages n’ont cessé d’affluer depuis ce 16 mai et cela va des plus grands artistes du métal (Metallica, Scorpions, Kiss, Anthrax, ….) en passant par les fans, le tout étant repris par les plus grands médias et pas seulement musicaux, puisque même le Monde consacrait un article sur le chanteur le 17 mai. Pour ma part, je dirai simplement que sans Dio, ma passion ne serait certainement pas la même, car ses albums avec Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, sous son nom et récemment sous Heaven & Hell ont été mes albums de chevet pendant de nombreuses années. L’album "Heaven & Hell" reste d’ailleurs pour moi l’un des meilleurs albums de hard de tous les temps. De plus, ayant vu le chanteur à de nombreuses reprises, celui-ci ne m’a jamais déçu (même lorsqu’il était grippé au Z7, il avait tenu à assurer le concert et à monter sur scène) et je garde un souvenir ému de sa première prestation live en tant qu’artiste solo, lors de la sortie de l’album "Holy Diver", où le 20 août 1983, il avait enflammé les Monsters of Rock à Donington aux côtés de Diamond Head, Twisted Sister, ZZ Top, Meat Loaf et Whitesnake.
