Individualized student schedules provide for ability levels, educational and vocational plans, and personal interests. Strong community involvement is encouraged. Methacton School Our Community District Administration Methacton School District was formed in 1969. It serves the suburban Montgomery County Dr. David Zerbe townships of Lower Providence and Worcester, approximately 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia and seven miles east of Valley Forge. Its residents are largely middle to upper Superintendent middle income. The 32 square mile district includes a population of 38,000. Dr. Karey Kochenour Curriculum Grade 12 House Principal The school year is divided into four nine-week marking periods. There are seven, 47 minute Grade 9 A-GO instructional periods per day. Departmental offerings include Advanced Placement, Honors, College Preparatory, Technical, Academics, and Career. The instructional program is designed Mr. Daniel Bontempo to include flexibility through many educational alternatives. In addition to elective programs Grade 11 House Principal in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, World Languages, and Driver’s Education, Grade 9 GP-O there are special programs such as Gifted Seminar, Pre-Career, Dual Enrollment, and Dr. Paul Spiewak Community Service. The Dual Enrollment courses are offered in conjuction with Grade 10 House Principal Montgomery County Community College. Online learning is offered through Brandywine & Athletics and Activities Virtual Academy. Eight technical career clusters, the Pennsylvania Youth Apprenticeship, Allied Health Sciences, and the Biotechnology Program are offered through the North Montco Mr. John Smink Technical Career Center.
