HARRITON BOYS’ LACROSSE 2018 SEASON WELCOME to the 2018 season of the Harriton High School of Rams Boys’ Lacrosse. The purpose of this letter is to provide all players and families with information about the upcoming season. REGISTRATION AND DUES: Each player must register and pay your dues at www.harritonboyslacrosse.com. Dues are required of each player prior to the start of each season. The dues are a component of the fundraising efforts of the Boosters. The 2018 Spring season dues are $200.00 per player. COMMUNICATION: Throughout the season you will receive a weeKly email giving you the relevant lax information you need for the weeK. When absolutely necessary, update emails will be sent. The goal, however, is to maintain all up-to-date team information on our website, www.harritonboyslacrosse.com. Please booKmarK the site and checK it regularly for updated information such as time and field changes for scheduled games. MARK YOUR CALENDARS (Dates and times are subject to change): Thursday, February 1 Mandatory Players & Parents Meeting @ Harriton High School in the Large Group Room. Monday, March 5 Spring sports practices officially begin. Practices will be held each weeKday after school. Monday, March 5 thru BreaKfast Table Friday, March 9 Friday, March 9 Spring Social @ St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwynne Tuesday, March 20 @ Great Valley High School Friday, March 23 @ Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School March 24 - April 1 2018 Lower Merion School District Spring Break. Spring Break week will be filled with practices, games and team-building activities. All players are expected to participate. Please plan your weeK accordingly. Monday, March 26 v. Methacton High School Wednesday, March 28 @ Holy Ghost Prep. Tuesday, April 3 v. Marple Newtown High School Thursday, April 5 @ Conestoga High School Saturday, April 7 @ The Shipley School FUNDRAISING & A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: In order to subsidize such a robust program, including training programs, additional coaching and equipment, the Boosters conduct fundraisers. Traditionally our fundraising sources have included: 50/50 raffle ticKets Silent auction at March 9th Spring Parent Social Food sales at the Ram ShacK during home games and events Online sale of Ram lax gear and merchandise Sale of ads in lacrosse team player program booK Dine-in nights at local restaurants BreaKfast table sales at Harriton High School (WeeK of March 5) There are many opportunities to contribute to the Boosters for the betterment of the lacrosse team. Volunteer opportunities include: Manning the Ram ShacK or breaKfast table Securing sponsors for our program booK and website Securing items for the silent auction Score Keeping Game summary write-ups Submitting photographs for the website and Awards Banquet slide show Planning, setting up and breaking down events such as the Spring Social, Senior Night and Awards Banquet Please contact the Boosters if you have time available to assist in our efforts to provide the boys with a great lacrosse playing experience. We especially want to hear from you if you Know of any interesting and innovative ways to raise funds for the program. PLAYER PACKS: This year we player pacKs will be sold via the website. All players are required to have a player pacK. Individual pacK pieces are offered via the team store. Please see the team store on the website for information. Store is now open. This is the only time you can purchase player packs. CLOSES ON WEDESDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2018. DISCOUNTED CASCADE-S HELMETS: The boosters negotiated a phenomenal price for the newest model of Cascade-S helmet custom made in Harriton Ram Lax colors. Helmets can be ordered for $214.00 (inclusive of tax and shipping) through the website and delivery will be made by the first game. The order itself and price point is dependent upon a minimum order of 12 helmets. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The Boosters want to encourage and welcome all students interested in playing the great game of lacrosse regardless of financial means. In the past, where merited, the Boosters have provided individualized subsidies and/or waivers of dues, tournament fees, training and other costs. All requests for assistance will be handled in strict confidence. We are looking forward to a great 2018 boys’ lacrosse season. GO RAMS!
