CONTEMPORARYCHURCH LOVE LIKE JESUS Bible Prophecy: Friday, May 22, 2020 Contemporary Church | Pastor Stephen Contee “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?” Jeremiah 5:31 KJV “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15 KJV “Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.” Psalms 41:9 KJV “I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.” John 13:18 KJV “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” Daniel 7:25 KJV “Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.” Daniel 2:37-38 KJV The first king and kingdom: King Nebuchadnezzar and the kingdom of Babylon 605 BC - 539 BC “And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.” Daniel 2:39-41 KJV The second king and kingdom: Cyrus the Great and the kingdom of Medo-Persia 539 BC - 331 BC “And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee... Daniel 2:39 The third king and kingdom: Alexander the Great and the kingdom of Greece 331 BC - 168 BC and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. Daniel 2:39 The forth kingdom: The Iron Monarchy - The Roman Empire 168 BC - 476 AD And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. Daniel 2:40 Jesus was nailed to a Roman cross on 31 AD Jerusalem fell to the Roman Army in 70 AD And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided... Daniel 2:41 KJV The feet represents two parts: The Emperor Diocletian divided the Roman Empire into two parts. The toes represents ten parts: Ten countries later came out of the Roman Empire. The toes represents ten parts: Ostrogoths - are extinct Heruli - are extinct Vandals - are extinct Alemanni - Germans Franks - French Suevi - Portuguese Visigoths - Spanish Lombards - Italians Burgundians - Swiss Saxons - English Divided Roman is now known as Europe: 476 AD - Present “And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.” Daniel 2:43 KJV What does mixing Iron and Clay mean? And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided... Daniel 2:41 KJV “The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 18:1-6 KJV “But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8 KJV “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7 KJV ,ʻâphâr, aw-fawr'; from H6080; dust (as powdered or gray); hence, CLAY, earth עָפָר mud:—ashes, dust, earth, ground, morter, powder, rubbish. The Clay represents the spirit filled believers in God. The Iron represents the entire pagan world. We learn that Christ is the head of the body, the church. “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:18 KJV “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:1-2 KJV πνοή pnoḗ, pno-ay'; from G4154; respiration, a breeze:—BREATH, wind. The moral of the story is, true believers that are filled with God’s Holy Spirit will not be able to mix with any pagan society. “But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.” Isaiah 63:10 KJV “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,” Philippians 3:20 NKJV .
