The lack of snow around the city is being received with mixed reactions. For some, the lack of snow makes the dark days darker but for others it is a great opportunity to walk around the city and visit new places during January. USEFUL INFORMATION New prices - Ruter On 29th January, the prices will change for single tickets, 30 day tickets, and 365-day tickets. To ensure that there is a good public transport service, Ruter annually increases ticket prices in line with the framework established for price growth for municipal services in the Government budget. Ticket revenues are used in their entirety to develop public transport services in Oslo and Akershus. For more information about new prices and zones, please click here. Gustave Courbet The work Pêcheur à la ligne ('The Fisherman') was donated to the National Museum as a supposedly genuine Courbet in 1947. But French experts cast doubt on the authenticity of the picture. Recent research on the provenance of the picture seems, however, to point in the opposite direction: in all probability Pêcheur à la ligne was indeed painted by the master himself. The performance is free of charge, but is limited to 150 people. There are no options for signing up or reserving tickets in advance. A queue will be organised starting 18.00, with doors opening 18.50. Like many soul singers before him, Paul Janeway has a background from church and gospel music. With the help of bass player Jesse Phillips he started St. Paul & The Broken Bones featuring a range of Alabama musicians. The band is currently working to conquer both the US and Europe. Best known for their experimental ethos and freewheeling play, The Sufferettes defy the constraint of form in their approach to improvised theatre.
