FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JANUARY 19, 2009 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS JAY MOHR STAR OF CBS’s NEW HIT SITCOM “GARY UNMARRIED” LIVE AT THE RIVER ROCK SHOW THEATRE SATURDAY, MAY 23 Jay Mohr is a multiple threat. Film, television, radio, writing, stand-up and producing are all among the skill sets he has accomplished throughout a career that has spanned well over a decade. The multi-talented Mohr first received audience notice with his dead-on impressions of Christopher Walken, Tony Bennett, Ricki Lake, Dick Vitale and Sean Penn on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” from 1993 to 1995. He then went on to make his mark on the big screen with his breakthrough film role as a rival agent to Tom Cruise in 1996’s blockbuster hit, Jerry Maguire. In 1997, Mohr starred opposite Jennifer Aniston playing a touching good-guy role in the film, Picture Perfect. His other motion picture credits include dramatic turns in Suicide Kings (1997), Playing By Heart (1998), Go (1999), Pay It Forward (2000), Seeing Other People (2004) and The Groomsmen (2006) as well as comedic leads in such films as King's Ransom (2005) and Are We There Yet? (2005). He returned to television in 1999 starring in the lead role of fictional Hollywood producer “Peter Dragon” on FOX’s critically acclaimed series, “Action.” He also created, executive produced and hosted NBC's smash hit, “Last Comic Standing” from 2003 to 2004. And in the fall of 2006, he joined the cast of CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer” in the role of “Professor Rick Payne” for two seasons. In addition, he has enjoyed a successful radio career often guest hosting on Premiere Radio's “The Jim Rome Show” and is a frequent guest on Los Angeles’ number #1 morning show, KROQ's “Kevin & Bean.” Additionally, Mohr is well known for his respected sports work as host of FOX's “NFL This Morning” in 1999 and narrator of FOX Sports Net’s “Beyond the Glory” in 2001. He also hosted and executive produced the talk show, “Mohr Sports” which aired on ESPN in 2002. He released his first book in 2004 through Hyperion Publishing – the highly praised “Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live” – a darkly funny, brutally honest memoir of his two years as a writer and featured performer on SNL. Currently he can be seen starring in his own sitcom, “Gary Unmarried” which airs on CBS while continuing to perform his stand-up to sold out audiences at theatres and clubs across North America. Mohr will be making his debut at the River Rock Casino Resort in May.
