As a result of stakeholder feedback and further technical evaluations, EDP Renewables Canada Ltd. (EDPR Canada) has made some modifications to the Project. Updates since the August 17, 2017 Open House In our summer 2017 project specific information package, we indicated that we were considering two proposed turbine models: Option A (Vestas V136 3.6 MW) and Option B (Senvion 3.7M144) on 102 potential turbine locations. We will file only one turbine model with the AUC application. Based on your feedback and further technical analysis, we have identified the chosen turbine, turbine locations and 10 alternate locations, and modified the project boundary. We have chosen to use 83, Vestas V136 3.6 MW turbines at 93 potential turbine locations. The 93 turbine locations are a subset of the previous 102 turbine locations. The ten additional locations are considered alternates at this time. Each turbine has a capacity of 3.6 MW and the total project capacity will be up to 298.8 MW. We will move forward with our Buildable Areas Phase 2 Application including the 10 alternate locations and determine which of the 93 locations will be included in the final 83 turbines, during the application process. We have updated the Project maps as well as the noise contours, and the shadow flicker based on 93 potential turbine locations. The locations are the same as before, with the exception that some turbine locations have now been removed. The maps also show the revisions which include: the 93 potential turbine locations, collector system, and access roads. The location of the substation, permanent meteorological towers and laydown areas have not changed. We have also included updates to the shadow flicker and noise impact assessment in this package. EDP Renewables Canada Ltd. 1320B – 396 11th Avenue SW Calgary, Alberta T2R 0C5 Toll-free: 1-844-624-0330 www.sharphillswindfarm.com www.edpr.com The changes are summarized in the table below: Table 1: Comparison of the Summer 2017 and August 2017 Project Changes Summer 2017 Project Specific August 2017 Newsletter Update Information Package Number of Turbines Up to 83 83 Potential Turbine Locations 102 93 Turbine Type Option A (Vestas V136 3.6 MW) Vestas V136 3.6 MW Option B (Senvion 3.7M144) Hub Height Option A (132 metres) 132 metres Option B (128 metres) Rotor Diameter Option A (136 metres) 136 metres Option B (144 metres) Project Capacity Option A (298.6 MW) 298.8 MW Option B (299.7 MW) Project lands 36,415 acres 34,840 acres Updated visual simulations reflecting these changes are also available on our website at: www.sharphillswindfarm.com. We believe these changes reflect a reduced overall project impact. We will be filing our Buildable Areas Phase 2 Application in the coming weeks. We will continue to engage with the community, landowners, and local government, and we look forward to receiving your feedback about these changes and the Project.
