As a special feature of the seminar we are offering an optional city tour of Berlin on Sunday, March 26. Participation in this tour is free of charge but space is limited to 150 participants. Please let us know if you are interested in the tour when you check in for the conference on Sunday, and we will give you a tour ticket, if still available. Please note that tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in joining the tour, make sure to adjust your travel arrangements accordingly.

Name: Journey through Berlin Date & Time: Sunday, March 26, from 3:00 until 4:30/5:00 pm Number of Participants: 150 Transportation: There will be two chartered buses which will pick you up in front of the conference hotel and drop you off at the hotel after the tour. Description: Take a journey through Berlin and learn more about the city’s history from a knowledgeable guide. On this journey you will pass by venues of transition, departure and arrival and learn more about the American presence in Berlin in the past and present. Among the following topics and famous sights included in your journey are:

 War, Destruction → The New Berlin: Nikolaiviertel, Gendarmenmarkt, Potsdamer Platz/Sony Center, Unter den Linden, US Embassy, Kurfürstendamm, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche  Berlin Wall/Reunification: East Side Gallery, Berlin City Hall, Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag  Train stations/former border crossings: Checkpoint Charlie, Palace of Tears, Ostbahnhof, Hauptbahnhof, Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten
