For Official Use Only UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, DHARWAD COMBINED ZONAL RESEARCH AND EXTENSION ADVISORY COUNCIL AND ZONAL RESEARCH AND EXTENSION FORMULATION COMMITTEE MEETING PROCEEDINGS – KHARIF 2014 NORTHERN DRY ZONE, NORTHERN TRANSITION ZONE, HILL ZONE AND COASTAL ZONE [ZONE – 3, 8, 9 and 10] Date : 18-20 May, 2015 Venue : New Auditorium, UAS, Dharwad Directorate of Research, UAS, Dharwad 1 PREFACE The Kharif combined Workshop of the Zonal Research and Extension Advisory and Zonal Research Council and Extension Formulation Committee for Northern transition Zone , Northern dry zone, Hiill zone and Coastal zone (Zone-3,8, 9 & 10) was held for four days from 18-21 May, 2015 at New Auditorium, UAS, Dharwad. The Scientists from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Officers from the Department of Agriculture and selected progressive farmers participated in the meeting. A thorough discussion took place on the research results generated during the previous year and also on the technical programme to be implemented during 2015-16. Further, based on the results of research carried out for more than two to three years, farm trials were formulated and proposed for conducting in farmers field by Agricultural Extension Education Cells, Krishi Vignana Kendras and State Department of Agriculture. All the scientists of the University and Extension Officers of the Department are requested to implement the programme as chalked out in the workshop in the ensuing year.
