Daily Bulletin Page 5 JUST FOR NEW PLAYERS New players’ friend: Alice Kinningham It’s the goal of every ACBL employee to make sure players have a good time at tournaments. Alice Kinningham, the tournament director who is in charge of the new player program for the Fall NABC in Orlando, takes her job especially seriously. The Aurora CO resident knows how important it is for the ACBL to make a good first impression. “I want the new players to be involved so they are happy, comfortable – and coming back,” says Kinningham. The native of Memphis took up bridge while she was in college – at Freed- Hardeman in Henderson TN – which is where she met her husband, Wayne, now retired from Lockheed management. Kinningham got into teaching bridge and eventually directing because that’s what she naturally likes to do – and she is proud of the fact that she has made an impression on a lot of players through the years. “There are many people who come up to me even after they have outgrown the IN games,” Kinningham says, “to tell me how they are doing. I love it.”
