Tells an experience, thoughts, feelings, ideas, spirit, and contains certain messages to readers. Novel is work of human literature. Novel divided into two parts: fiction (real) and non fiction (unreal). A good Novel does not only provide entertainment, but also give the reader a good impressions and message. The title of this paper is ”A Description of The Main Characters in J.M Barrie’s Novel PETER PAN”. He is a scottish author. He remembered as the creator of Peter Pan. By writing this final paper, the writer hopes that she can finish her study in English Diploma and improve the information about the main characters from the novel. Menceritakan pengalaman, pemikiran, perasaan, gagasan, semangat, dan berisi pesan tertentu kepada pembaca. Novel adalah karya sastra manusia. Novel terbagi menjadi dua bagian: fiksi (nyata) dan non fiksi (tidak nyata). Novel yang baik tidak hanya menyajikan hiburan, tetapi juga memberikan kesan dan pesan yang baik kepada sipembaca. Judul dari tugas akhir ini adalah “A Description of The Main Characters in J.M Barrie’s Novel Peter Pan”. Dia seorang penulis dari Scotlandia. Dia dikenal sebagai pencipta Peter Pan. INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background of the Study Literature is the foundation of humanity’s cultures, beliefs, and traditions. It serves as a reflection of reality, a product of art, and a window to an ideology. Everything that happens within a society can be written, recorded in, and learned from a piece of literature. Whether it be poetry or prose, literature provides insight, knowledge or wisdom, and emotion towards the person who partakes it entirely. Wellek and Warren (1963:22 ) states, “literature seems if we limit it to the art of literature, that is, to imaginative literature. Literature is also prodiced by imagination of the author. Literature is not just a document of facts, it is not just the collection of real events thought it may happen in the real life, literature can create its own world as a product of the unlimited imagination” Literature, is an art of written works. Literature is wriring that is considered to be an art form or any single writing deemed to have artistoc or intellectual value. Literature can be classified according to whether it is fiction or non fiction and wether it is poetry or prose. The name has traditionally been applied to those imaginative works of poetry and prose distinguished by the intentions of their authors and the perceived aesthetic excellence of their execution. Literature may be classified according to a variety of systems, including language, national
