Site GT5 – Alexis Place, Hockenden Lane NO OBJECTION. Swanley Town Council does not object to increasing the capacity on this site. White Oak Ward Site HO202 – Land Adjacent to 23 Russett Way NO OBJECTION. Swanley Town Council does not object to the development of this land for some housing; however some amenity land should be retained due to the low amounts of amenity land in this densely populated residential area. We would only suggest a maximum of two properties on this land, with the site contributing to some play equipment for local residents. Site HO222 – Former Birchwood Primary School SUPPORT. Swanley Town Council supports the re-development of this brownfield site. However, any re-development should only be considered for the total built area and not into the green belt land or playing fields, which should be kept as amenity land. Any development should respect the privacy and enjoyment of amenity of the houses at the back of Russett Way and Wisteria Gardens, and potentially could include a ‘swap’ of previously developed and green belt land within the site to allow a more acceptable distance and non-intrusive built form from the houses of 28-56 Russett Way.

Description of Proposal 3 The proposed scheme looks to improve the standard of the Darent Valley Path (DVP) by creating an integrated sustainable transport corridor through the Darent Valley. This would provide a viable alternative to car journeys for both visitors and residents. The project will make further provision for cyclists to use the path or an alternative parallel route, as well as enhancing routes to local train stations to encourage sustainable travel. Improvements to wayfinding and signage are also proposed.

    Southeastern Penalty Fare Scheme DMC2685 Version 1 2009 Penalty Fare Scheme 2009 1 Introduction 1.1 We, Southeastern, give notice under rule 3.2 of the SRA’s Penalty Fares Rules 2002 that we want to change our penalty fares scheme with effect from 30 April 2009. This document describes our penalty fare scheme for the purposes of rule 3(2)(b). 1.2 Southeastern currently operates a penalty fares scheme because, each year, our passengers make over 130 million journeys and even if only a small percentage of these passengers travel without paying, Southeastern will lose a considerable amount of money. Reducing the number of people who travel without a ticket is not only in the interests of Southeastern, but also in the interests of most fare-paying passengers. Few of us want to subsidise people who avoid paying, and the loss of income due to people travelling without tickets reduces the money available to invest in a better rail service. 1.3 As part of our revenue protection strategy, we have invested in the installation of additional automatic ticket gates, but it is not cost effective to install ticket gates at every station. We have therefore focussed the use of gates at our stations where large numbers of customers travel, especially at the London terminals. Conductors carry out on board ticket checks on longer distance journeys but suburban services operate without a conductor. Also, where station stops are frequent or where the trains are often busy it is not always possible to check every passenger’s ticket between every station.
