Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year-old Indian petroglyphs.

During the Spring and Summer months there is a large herd of Desert Big Horn Sheep who come down off the surrounding mountain and make Hemenway park their home. Visitor from all over the world stop at the park and see this elusive animal. Photo by Roger C. Hall.

03-recreation.indd 65 3/18/14 10:51 AM A Small Investment NOW Yields Valuable Dividends LATER.

Disadvantaged children who attend quality early education programs are 31% more likely to graduate from high school, 80% more likely to attend college, and 23% more likely to be employed as adults. Without the fundamental building blocks of learning in place, a child is much more likely to struggle in school – and in life. The future of our economy begins with teaching our children to learn.
