He replaces Ajay Bhushan Pandey. 4. President Ram Nath Kovind has formally approved the appointment of Justice SA Bobde as the next Chief Justice of India. Justice Bobde will be sworn in as the 47th CJI a day after the retirement of current CJI Ranjan Gogoi. CJI Gogoi had himself recommended Justice Bobde’s name for the post. 5. The Central Government has appointed Girish Chandra Murmu as the first Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT and Radha Krishna Mathur as the first LG of Ladakh. The current J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik has been appointed as the new Governor of Goa.

Answer THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRI OMAR ABDULLAH) (a) The number of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Consul Generals and other diplomats from the Ministry of External Affairs as on date is 473. A list is at Annexure I. (b) The number out of them belonging to SCs/STs is 113. A list is at Annexure II. (d) SC/ST representation in the total strength of the IFS Cadre is 15% and 7.5% respectively.W hile the percentages are strictly followed at the recruitment stage, there is no policy of reservation of posts in foreign postings, thereafter. However, conscious efforts are made towards the appointment of officers belonging to the SC/ST category as Ambassadors/High Commissioners/Consul Generals on the basis of a number of criteria which include, interalia, their seniority, relevant experience, career, background and an overall suitability to the tasks and the post. The House expresses its deepest sympathies, heart-felt condolences and its solidarity to the Government, the Parliament and to the people of Singapore for this great loss. I have also to inform the House about the sad demise of two former Members Smt. Rano M. Shaiza and Shri Ghufran Azam. Smt. Rano M Shaiza was a Member of the Sixth Lok Sabha representing the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency of Nagaland. Smt. Shaiza was a Member of the Committee on Petitions during the Sixth Lok Sabha. An educationist by profession, Smt. Shaiza was associated with a number of women, children and youth associations and strove for spread of education. Smt. Rano M. Shaiza passed away on 1st April, 2015 in Kohima at the age of 86. Shri Ghufran Azam was a Member of the Seventh Lok Sabha representing the Betul Parliamentary Constituency of Madhya Pradesh. Shri Azam also served as a Member of the Rajya Sabha for two terms. An active social and political worker, Shri Azam worked for the upliftment of the backward and downtrodden sections of society. Shri Ghufran Azam passed away on 2 April, 2015 in Mumbai at the age of 72. We deeply mourn the loss of our former colleagues and I am sure the House would join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved families.
