I also got sacked from my position at the BBC for claiming (on air) that her death had been the result of a conspiracy by Interflora, who seemed to have been the only people to benefit. Five years later when it all happened again I was less cynical, but refused to join in the grief for a lady of 101 to whom I was not related, despite the fact that she had lived an extraordinary life and achieved some extraordinary things. Over the lifespan (so far) of this magazine we have seen the deaths of many luminaries, and tried to celebrate their lives in these pages.
