ONE OF THE HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS IN MY CAR HAS STOPPED WORKING. I WISH TO REPLACE IT WITH AN LED LIGHT, WHICH IS CURRENTLY VERY POPULAR. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF LED OVER HALOGEN AND XENON, AND WHAT ARE THE DRAWBACKS OF LED? ALSO, WHAT DO I NEED TO TAKE NOTE OF WHEN CHANGING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS?

LED lamps require less power to operate, run cooler, and last longer than halogen ones. LED has the coolest colour temperature among the three types of lamps, which makes it appear whiter. LED offers better light return from road signs, whereas xenon produces a brighter light that better illuminates the sides of the road. The downside is that LED headlights will cost you more than halogen ones. 'ULYHUVVKRXOGQRWHWKDWDQ\YHKLFOHPRGLƓFDWLRQV must follow guidelines set by the Land Transport Authority (LTA). IS IT EXCITING TO BE AMONG THE FIRST IN AA SINGAPORE TO EXPERIENCE NEW PRODUCTS? Yes, of course. We receive samples, and I get to test them out with my colleagues. We discover many interesting products and have fun reviewing them before deciding if they ought to be part of the AAShop. We will observe the quality of a product, assess its price and — most importantly — how useful it is for members.

DO THE AASHOP MERCHANDISERS SPECIALISE IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRODUCTS? No, we do it as a team. We will discuss and review the products with management before bringing in the products.
