Otahuhu College Newsletter

Friday 6 July 2018

From our Principal We have come to the end of a very busy and constructive term. Our winter Sports teams have achieved some pleasing results and many sit near the top of their respective competitions. The academic achievement at all year levels is either ahead or at a similar standard to last year. Our Arts students (Dance, Drama and Music) have continued to excel in many different shows and performances.

This week we had the pleasure of receiving a phone call from a member of the public whom was walking her dog in the Hunua Ranges, while 70 of our Year 11 PE students were on their 4hour tramp. She complimented the school on how respectful and well behaved our students were. Well done to our PE students and PE staff for being great ambassadors of .

On Wednesday evening we also had our first ever University Expo. Over 100 parents and students came into school to gain first-hand information about what the Universities can offer them when they leave school. Feedback from the University staff was really positive and our students, and their families, gained some valuable knowledge to help them with their academic aspirations.

It has been great to see so many students making the most of the opportunities afforded them at Otahuhu College. These valuable learning experiences can only happen due to the hardworking teachers and staff that we have at our school.

I wish all the students and teachers a safe and enjoyable holidays and hope that you all come back refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges of Term 3!

Kia Tamatane!
