1.3 SSD (Solid-State Drive)

● Using SSD drives boosts up the speed by 500 percent and consumes less energy. An SSD-equipped PC will boot in seconds. It should be in RAID. ● SSD will provide a performance boost over SCSI HDD. ● Drive capacity requirements increase with scanning and imaging storage needs. ● Drives should be partitioned. C partition should hold the OS; D partition should hold IMS database. ● RAID 5 is recommended for maximum redundancy and data protection. ● More recent versions like windows server 2016 is in compatibility testing phase. ● Standard requirement for Internet service: static IP, latency: minimum 50 ms round-trip on a standard ping packet, packet loss: less than 1 percent

● Scanning, Dragon dictation, word processing workstations are considered high-usage workstations. ● SonicWall, ZyXEL, Juniper, WatchGuard, Fortinet firewalls are recommended.

Note: The following can contribute to system slowness: firewall/antivirus software (even if virus scan is not running, it will scan each file that is downloaded and opened or scanned and saved); insufficient RAM memory; hard drive encryption; multiple network switches; slow network / more traffic on network; low space on system partition or working partition.

Network Discretion of local IT technician Router / Firewall2 For better performance, we recommend Gigabyte switches and routers (10/100/1000) Hardwiring your office to the Internet is always the best solution. However, if you seek the convenience of wireless PCs, you do have the option of using them through a Terminal Services connection to a that is hardwired to the Internet. Setting up a simple remote connection will give you the flexibility of wireless Internet with the dependability of a hardwired Internet connection. Please ask our team for more details about how to set this up.

We recommend the following wireless access points (WAP): Wireless

Cisco Aironet 1041N (GOOD) Cisco Aironet 1041N (BETTER) Cisco Aironet 1262N (BEST) Best Practices for Backup You are responsible for backing up your data. If you lose your data, recovery may be difficult and costly. Keeping backup files is the best thing that you can do to protect your office’s data, your patients’ data, and to preserve your paperless environment. Your understanding of the backup process is crucial to a successful backup.

Although Meditab Customer Support initially sets up the scheduled backup of files on your local server, they are not responsible sustaining it .This is your responsibility. W e strongly encourage that you hire a network professional to handle your backup procedures. Have a qualified IT technician contact Customer Support immediately to create a backup plan. Backing up your data will only take a few minutes of your time, and it’s worth the effort. Remember, it is your responsibility to make sure this is done daily.
